Overview of the role: This role focuses on designing, developing, and supporting business applications, automations, and AI-enabled solutions that help teams work smarter, make better decisions, and improve operational effectiveness. Working closely with business stakeholders, Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, and technical teams, you will deliver practical technology solutions that create measurable business value.
The ideal candidate combines strong application development expertise with a practical understanding of AI technologies, modern development frameworks and the use of technologies to speed the development and support of a wide variety of systems and technology stacks. They are comfortable delivering solutions ranging from lightweight business tools and prototypes to production-ready applications and enjoy solving complex business problems through technology.
Key Deliverables / Responsibilities- Design, develop, and support business applications, automations, and AI-enabled solutions that improve operational effectiveness and user experience.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and Architects to deliver technology solutions that address business needs and drive measurable outcomes.
- Deliver a range of solutions, from lightweight business tools and rapid prototypes to production-ready applications.
- Leverage AI technologies, including large language models (LLMs), copilots, intelligent agents, and related capabilities to solve business problems and improve productivity.
- Partner with Data Science, Data Engineering, and Analytics teams to incorporate AI capabilities into business-facing solutions where appropriate.
- Rapidly prototype and validate ideas using modern development and AI technologies, helping business teams move from concept to value more quickly.
- Develop practical, maintainable solutions that align with established architecture, security, and operational standards.
- Support deployment activities across multiple environments using modern DevOps and cloud practices.
- Serve as the primary technical resource for applications developed by the team, supporting ongoing enhancements, operational stability, and issue resolution.
- Collaborate with Cloud Operations and Infrastructure teams to maintain secure, reliable, and performant production environments.
- Contribute to development standards, documentation, code reviews, and knowledge sharing across the team.
- Mentor and coach developers while promoting engineering best practices and a culture of continuous learning.
- Participate in Agile delivery processes including planning, estimation, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.
- Manage multiple priorities while collaborating effectively across business and technology teams.
Experience and Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- 8+ years of software development experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong experience designing, developing, and supporting modern business applications.
- Experience developing full-stack web applications using contemporary development frameworks and technologies.
- Strong proficiency in languages such as Python, C#, JavaScript, or equivalent modern programming languages.
- Experience developing cloud-based solutions, preferably within Microsoft Azure.
- Working knowledge of AI and Generative AI technologies, including large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, AI agents, copilots, and related technologies.
- Experience building or enhancing applications with AI capabilities to improve user experiences and business outcomes.
- Familiarity with modern software engineering practices including source control, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile delivery methodologies.
- Experience rapidly developing business-focused tools and prototypes using technologies such as Streamlit or similar application frameworks.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work across application, platform, and infrastructure domains.
- Experience supporting solutions through their full lifecycle, from development and deployment through ongoing enhancement and support.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality solutions in a dynamic environment.
Nice to Have- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience working with Snowflake and modern data platforms.
- Experience supporting cloud-hosted production applications.
- AI, cloud, or software engineering certifications.
- Prior experience in the airline or travel industry.
