About The Position

The position is responsible for working with all departments and locations within the Ameren Missouri system.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitor the performance of chemical systems at various sites throughout the Ameren Missouri system, performing calculations and writing reports summarizing the performance of those systems.

  • Provide quality control review of plant chemistry equipment, processes, and programs.

  • Participate on teams to develop standards and strategies for design, operation, testing, and maintenance of plant chemical systems and that assess equipment and programs for compliance with standards.

  • Perform inspections of chemical equipment and plant equipment affected by chemical systems (such as boilers and condensers).

  • Troubleshoot equipment and system problems.

  • Collaborate with Ameren personnel and outside organizations to assess operation and maintenance issues and develop options to improve performance and reliability of plant equipment.

  • Prepare procedures, specifications, and drawings necessary for operating, maintaining, or modifying equipment.

  • Coordinate the work of contractors and Ameren personnel to operate or maintain the equipment.

  • Support major capital projects related to plant chemistry and environmental controls.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited college or university required. Preferred skills: AVEVA PI System, Boiler Water, Chemical injection, clarifiers, deionized water, Reverse Osmosis, Total Organic Carbon (TOC). Previous experience in water treatment and power plant chemistry preferred, however new graduates will be considered. Professional Engineer (P.E.) License preferred.

**This position will be 100% in the field. Working from home will be available upon request depending on energy center needs that day.The position may require outage and emergency response off shift.**

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

Proficiency in the use of PC-based spreadsheets, graphics, word processing, and database software preferred. Must be able to operate an automobile. Must be able to enter and work in tight, enclosed spaces. Must be able to wear a respirator. Must be able to pass a physical exam required for participation on a Hazardous Materials Response Team. Excellent analytical, communication, human relations, leadership, and customer service skills required. Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Compensation Range:

$71,100.00 - $172,200.00

* This pay range encompasses multiple levels of the role. Career level and compensation depends upon applicant’s credentials.

At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
