JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position Title: Engineer 2, Product Quality
Reports To: Director, Product Quality
Date Last Revised: June 5, 2026

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for the developing/designing and implementing systems to prevent quality related issues of Bendix products, specifically within the Drivetrain and Steering Dampers and Transmissions product business teams.

Essential Functions:
  • Support assigned business unit and Project and Product quality focal point for all assigned customers in an agile work environment.
  • Assist Advanced Project Quality Development according to PDC 4.0 and Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities on all assigned product line launches, including suppliers.
  • Interface with customers and manufacturing plants to define customer quality requirements and monitor performance.
  • Support, and or lead as assigned, breakthrough Quality initiatives and participate on other special projects.
  • For complex non-routine issues, provide leadership in developing and implementing corrective actions. and special project teams. Ability to create and deliver clear and concise executive level presentations
  • Assist all functional areas and manufacturing locations with Advanced Quality Planning, problem resolution, prevention and mistake proofing.
  • Support global product safety audits.
  • Coordinate monthly Quality management reports for high-risk issues and KPI reviews.
  • Assist customer installation audits for assigned customers.
Knowledge:
  • Intermediate knowledge of VDA, TS16949 and ISO9001, and Advanced Product Quality Planning.
  • Familiar with Design/Process Failure Modes Effects Analysis (D/PFMEA), control plans, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), statistical process control.
  • Knowledge of statistical and six-sigma methodologies.
Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of quality experience in the automotive/truck industry with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or Tier 1 supplier is required.
  • 3+ years of experience in an engineering environment.
  • MS degree to be considered in place of minimum Quality experience requirements
Skills:
  • Solid experience in a technical field such as Quality Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • High level of energy, enthusiasm and optimism, as well as a sense of urgency and passion for excellence.
  • Capable of working in an Agile Team environment with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Project planning and follow-up skills essential.
  • Ability to build strong customer relationships.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
Education:
  • BS/BSET degree required in Manufacturing, Process or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Working knowledge of Automotive/Trucking Industry Quality requirements and standards a plus.
  • Black or Green Belt certified a plus.
  • SPS or Red X certified a plus.
Travel Requirements
  • Ability to travel up to 25% is required to support operational quality, process or product launch activities. Both domestically and internationally

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Avon, Ohio is $75,900 to $113,900 per year. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry and education. Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems is a multi-state employer, and this pay scale may not reflect positions that work in other states or locations. Provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, employees (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, vision, and basic life and disability insurance. Employees also will be able to enroll in our company's 401k plan. Employees will also receive 120 hours of vacation leave and 40 hours of Personal Paid Absence every year. Employees will also enjoy 12 paid holidays, and 1 floating holiday throughout the calendar year, subject to relevant terms outlined in the employee handbook. 6 weeks of paid parental leave will also be available for use. Requirements for these benefits will be controlled by applicable plan documents and policies. Employees working on federal contracts covered by the Federal Paid Sick Leave requirements will be notified and will receive benefits consistent and compliant with the FPSL requirements.
