Job DescriptionBAE Systems, Precision Guidance and Sensing Solutions (PGSS) Product Line within the Precision Strike (PS) Business Area has an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer that is well versed in the overall Systems Engineering process and associated phases of the program life cycle. In this position, the candidate is expected to support our Advanced Precision Kill Weapons System (APKWS) portfolio of development projects. This may also include being able to provide ongoing support to supplier activities as needed to meet delivery schedules and design review requirements.
The successful candidate will support business and engineering leadership to help grow the PGSS product line by applying BAE Systems' broad technology base to fill real gaps that Department of Defense customers have in the area of smart weapons with an emphasis on leading and growing a team. Initially, the candidate will take on a general systems engineering role, having a strong desire to develop their skills in the systems engineering discipline. The ideal candidate will work with other subject matter experts assisting with the next generation of precision guidance solutions for our diverse customer base. This role requires the candidate to be an outgoing, well-connected self-starter with a desire to grow the organization.

Candidates should be comfortable working with teams of all sizes and enjoy a mix of creative design work, mentoring the next generation of protégés, developing White Papers, presenting internally and externally, and leading test events.
It is anticipated that the candidate may fulfil the requirements for this position in a hybrid work environment, with a minimum of 50% on site participation.
Required Skills and Education- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Secret Security Clearance
- Experience in the practice of systems engineering
- Experience with subcontractor interface, Smart Munition design assessment, and integration activities
- Ability to perform technical reviews of guided munitions design
- Experience with high-level programming languages such as MATLAB or Python
Preferred Skills and Education- Experience in Model-Based Engineering
- Ability to identify potential risk areas, develop plans / recommendations for risk mitigation
- Experience with missile systems and guided projectiles
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers, senior leadership, and other engineering disciplines
- Ability to understand CONOPS for missile systems
- Ability to develop requirements in response to customer operational needs
- Exposure to the development, integration, test, qualification and production of Air-to-Air, Air-to-Ground and Ground-to-Ground Missiles, Guided Projectiles and Glide Weapon Systems.
