Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.
Electronic Combat Solutions (ECS) has technology, engineering and program teams that educate and mentor colleagues to deliver leading Electronic Warfare capabilities. We welcome all those who have big ideas, crave innovation, want to drive fielding velocity, and have the passion to bring the warfighter home safely.
BAE is seeking an innovative and results driven Senior Laser Seal Engineer to lead the optimization, processes and operation of precision laser seal systems designed to produce hermetic seals. You will serve as the subject matter expert, bridging the gap between engineering, product integration and stable, high yield manufacturing.
This is a first shift position working a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off!Responsibilities
- Set up, calibrate and operate precision laser welders to establish hermetic seals.
- Design, optimize and scale laser welding and sealing processes for microwave submodule application.
- Plan and execute structured experiments (DOE) to establish process windows and characterize laser material interactions.
- Utilize analytical methods, root cause analysis and statistical process control (SPC) to endure yield targets and stringent seal integrity are met.
- Ability to execute environmental stress screening (ESS) includes thermal cycling and vibration testing. Perform precise machine de-lidding for inspection and rework.
- Serve as a technical liaison with design, test, quality, reliability and program engineering to meet production goals.
- Document technical work, manage intellectual property and mentor junior engineers on laser safety and operational best practices.
