BAE Systems, Precision Guidance and Sensing Solutions (PGSS) Product Line within the Precision Strike (PS) Business Area is seeking a Senior Systems Engineering Team Lead who possess a skilled the Electro-Optical Infrared (EOIR) background to support our SureStrike™ EOIR development programs, a portfolio of Semi-Active Laser (SAL), Imaging Infrared (IIR), and multi-modal seeker solutions. As a secondary objective, the successful candidate will also provide support to THAAD EOIR Seeker redesign activities. The successful candidate will plan, execute and manage a geographically distributed team during the implementation of system processes, conduct of System and Subsystem internal and field test events, development of test and tactical hardware and software, and identification/allocation of new requirements to both affordable mass missile seekers (SureStrike™) and strategic seekers (THAAD).
This role will be staffed in Huntsville, AL. In Huntsville, our Engineering team is working in a recently opened state-of-the-art facility and operating in a unique environment where we have the power and resources of BAE Systems behind us while working in a dynamic and flexible model. At BAE Systems, we are looking for team players who have demonstrated experience working successfully in a Technical Team Lead setting.
Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working primarily onsite with some remote potential. Travel is estimated at 10%, namely to support SureStrike™ program test event milestones and collaboration with New Hampshire-based THAAD Seeker teams.

Required Skills and Education
• Hold an active Secret security clearance
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science
• Direct experience in two or more EOIR technology engineering activities to include analysis, hardware/software design, prototyping, integration, test, and/or verification
• Must have experience as a Systems Engineer
• Must have experience leading technical teams
• Experience identifying, delegating, tracking, and reporting team tasks
Preferred Skills and Education
• Advanced EOIR domain theoretical knowledge, with balanced understanding of practical SAL and/or IIR hardware and software architectures and tactical implementation
• Knowledge and willingness to lead Earned-Value Management (EVM) and Control Account Management (CAM) responsibilities
• Possess an agile mindset, to include Agile-Scrum principles, practices, processes, tools and techniques
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with Senior leadership and other engineering disciplines
• Exposure to technical performance measurements
• Experience developing and flowing down requirements to testable and modular hardware and software designs
• Experience in identifying and tracking technical risks
• Excels at problem solving, with the ability to produce concrete results despite significant ambiguities in the problem space
• Skilled in developing and using analysis tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, Python, VBA, C/C++ on Windows and/or Linux
• Experience in Digital Engineering and Model Based Systems Engineering, to include industry-accepted tools, e.g., Cameo, DOORS
• Fundamental understanding of the Radio Frequency (RF)/Radar technical domain and sensor solutions is a plus
• Comfortable in a lab setting working with a combination of both hardware and software
• MS degree in Systems Engineering or related technical field
