BAE Systems' Precision Strike (PS) Business Area has an immediate opening for an experienced Systems Engineer with a strong embedded systems and algorithms background to lead Automatic Target Acquisition (ATA) and Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) development and demonstrations for the Precision Guidance and Sensing Solutions (PGSS), SureStrike™ Product Line.

BAE Systems is seeking a Huntsville, AL-based Systems Engineer to join a growing team developing cutting-edge capabilities in multimodal/multifunction seekers. You will serve as a technical lead within the SureStrike™ product team focused on ATA and ATR algorithm maturity, implementation, and demonstration. As a senior-level contributor, you will be directly responsible for deeply impactful technical contributions to next generation military autonomy; collaborate with a distributed and highly-skilled development team; as well as lead customer engagement and relationship management. In this role, you will have the opportunity to participate in efforts across the full-spectrum of technology maturation ranging from Strategic Initiatives, IRAD/CRAD R&D prototypes, EMD units, LRIP units to full rate production systems - a wealth of opportunity to expand technical breadth and depth for anyone along a technical and/or Chief Engineering career path.

The ideal candidate will have a strong Sensor algorithm development and operational deployment experience. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have balanced experience in signal/image processing, target tracking, data fusion, embedded systems, and simulation - both digital and hardware in the loop. Finally, the ideal candidate will have strong Customer and Executive leadership communication and briefing skills.
