We are seeking a highly motivated and versatile Systems engineer to lead a small group of engineers and drive a successful transition from development to production.
In this role, you will:
- Provide supervision, mentoring, career development, and performance management for a small team of systems engineers
- Conduct one-on-one and section level meetings
- Provide a safe, inclusive culture
- Support recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of new team members to meet business needs
- Lead and coordinate all systems engineering activities supporting the transition to production plans
- Identify and mitigation technical, schedule, production and integration risks throughout the life cycle.
- Manage all system engineering content and work products
- Serve as an Earned Value Cost Account Manager for systems engineering work packages and control accounts
- Develop and maintain budgets, schedules, staffing forecasts and performance metrics
- Establish a baseline to monitor cost and schedule
- Drive a strategic transition towards low-rate initial production
- Support production root cause investigations
- Will have outside contact with customers, other contractors and government officials.
- Manage and participate in trade studies, peer reviews, and customer meetings
- Preparing and delivering technical presentations internally and with customers.
- Generate Basis of Estimate (BOE) packages for proposed work
Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this role, it will be performed fulltime on site in Merrimack, NH. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.
Required Skills and Education- Bachelor's Degree of Science (or equivalent experience in a relevant field) with a minimum work experience of:
- 8+ Years with BS
- 6+ Years with MS
- 4+ Year with PHD
- Engineering experience with leadership responsibilities in either a functional and/or technical role
- Must currently hold an active Secret clearance
- Experience with systems engineering processes, methodologies, and tools
Preferred Skills and Education- Prior functional management experience
- Cost Account Management/Earned Value Management in a DoD environment
- Demonstrated ability to guide individuals through complicated or difficult situations effectively and professionally
