Job DescriptionBAE Systems is seeking a Sr. Computer Hardware Engineer to support the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) SecureView Program Management Office. This role requires a skilled, technically knowledgeable person that has experience with hardware systems, components, and environments. The candidate must be able to handle multiple tasks in a team environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, integrate, test, and support hardware systems and components in secure environments
- Maintain and support hardware infrastructure including servers, storage arrays, networking equipment, and embedded systems
- Perform hardware troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions on desktop and server systems
- Conduct hardware upgrades, component replacements, firmware updates, and system configuration changes
- Interface with local customers and provide hardware-related support to quickly resolve issues
- Apply relevant compliance standards and security controls to hardware platforms
- Attend planning and requirements meetings with engineering teams, Program Managers, and customers
Required Skills and Education- Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, Hardware Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in hardware design, systems engineering or equivalent experience
- Extensive knowledge of x86-based hardware architectures and Intel processor platforms
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with digital/analog circuit design, PCB layout, and embedded hardware development
- Extensive experience performing root cause analysis and troubleshooting hardware systems
- Experience with hardware security and testing
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills and effectively communicate details with all levels of management
- Experience supporting hardware in DoD or government production environments

- Experience with FPGA development, and signal integrity analysis
- Experience writing test scripts, performing hardware testing
- Experience with virtualization hardware platforms and high-availability systems
- Basic knowledge of Agile development
