Energy Management System (EMS) Advisor
Your responsibilities will include:
Technical Guidance: Offer expertise and support in the development, implementation, and optimization of energy management systems within the Power System Controls (PSC) organization.
Solution Development: Develop technical solutions to meet both short-term and long-term business goals.
Collaboration: Work closely with vendors, senior leadership, and other departments to achieve desired business outcomes.
Responsibilities
Manages the reliable, safe, and compliant operation and maintenance of the grid application system, and implements grid modernization capital and expense programs.
Develops and manages energy efficiency projects, integrating advanced technologies and renewable energy sources to reduce energy consumption.
Develops and implements tools, processes and procedures that enhance system reliability and organizational efficiencies.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to promote energy-saving practices and ensure effective energy management throughout the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting, maintaining, or enhancing Energy Management System (EMS), SCADA, Transmission, or other mission-critical electric utility grid applications.
Experience in electric utility operations, real-time control center environments, grid reliability, or operational technology systems.
Experience troubleshooting complex application, database, interface, data integrity, or system performance issues in high-availability environments.
Experience with Oracle, SQL, Linux/UNIX shell environments, and scripting languages used to automate, validate, monitor, or support grid application processes.
Experience with EMS/SCADA application configuration, data modeling, telemetry, alarms, displays, integrations, or vendor software enhancement processes.
Knowledge of cybersecurity, compliance, change management, incident response, or operational controls applicable to critical infrastructure or NERC/CIP environments.
Experience leading cross-functional technical efforts with vendors, control center partners, engineering teams, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and business stakeholders.
Ability to translate complex technical issues into clear recommendations, roadmaps, metrics, and decisions that support reliability, modernization, and business outcomes.
Additional Information
This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
This position has an option for a 9/80 Alternate Work Schedule or 40hrs/5 days a week.
This role will require after-hours, on-call rotation support as this is a 24/7/365 operation for critical system incidents.
