Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement communication plans and engagement strategies for federal clients

What You Will Do:

Our Strategic Communications Consultants help federal clients effectively communicate concepts, process and/or data to achieve long-term goals. As a EUE Consultant, you will work as part of a team of problem-solvers with extensive consulting and health care experience, helping our clients solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include:
  • Working with client executives and organization leadership on communication plans and engagement strategies and developing strategic communications products to support them
  • Collaborating with staff across work streams to support the client and project team in the development and implementation of transformational strategic communications
  • Independently partnering with client executives to develop trusting relationships across the engagement team
  • Creating and managing communications content that will proactively engage national program employee stakeholders and external audiences, including:
  • Web content
  • Blogs
  • Emails
  • General one-pagers
  • Awareness campaign materials
  • Key messages and talking points
  • Plan, coordinate, produce, review and edit content for client publication
  • Identifying and mitigating project risks around scope, schedule, budget and quality, effectively escalating to engagement leadership
  • Developing strategies to solve complex clinical, technical and operational strategies for our health care clients
  • Actively supporting business development activities to help identify, research and pursue opportunities for new or existing clients
  • Contributing to the development of the team's industry acumen and capabilities through contribution to internal firm initiatives
  • Training, mentoring and leading staff, both within engagement as well as internal development


What You Will Need:
  • Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD "PUBLIC TRUST"; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their PUBLIC TRUST prior to onboarding with Guidehouse Minimum of a bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of THREE (3) years of relevant post-graduation work experience
  • Minimum three years of management consulting experience in federal or health care sector(s)
  • Minimum of three years of experience in strategic communications
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of business, both written and verbal
  • Excellent project and team management skills across multi-disciplinary functional areas
  • Due to contract requirements, US Citizenship restrictions apply
  • Currently reside in the contiguous United States


What Would Be Nice To Have:
  • Familiarity with the AP Stylebook
  • Familiarity with Federal Plain Language Guidelines
  • Familiarity with Federal 508 Accessibility Requirements
  • Experience:

o Working with graphic designers and client branding

o Building complex analytic models to enable strategic decision making

o Partnering with executives on talking points, media engagement and crisis management
  • Experience in strategic communications, including an understanding and working knowledge of:

o Campaign management and coordination

o Crisis communications

o Change management

o Health care

o Transformation communications
  • Ability to:

o Take complex concepts, create clear and concise copy, and adjust messaging according to internal or external stakeholders and audiences

o Adapt quickly to a complex culture and develop successful professional relationships with key stakeholders
  • Organizational and project management skills, with the ability to lead and collaborate with medium-to-large cross-functional client teams and effectively prioritize time and resources
  • Preferred, but not required:

o Experience working in VA or DOD

o Military background

o Health care nonprofit or commercial communications background

The annual salary range for this position is $98,000.00-$163,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
