Position SummaryWill oversee the daily operations of our EMS services in Richmond and Montgomery Counties, NC.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for interviewing and hiring staff for both bases.
- Ensures that staff meet and retain clinical requirements.
- Teaches/directs/advises/informs others in an appropriate manner.Reports/records information correctly.
- Coaches, counsels, and appraises employees regarding performance and/or disciplinary matters according to FHC policy and philosophy.
- Monitors the work environment and initiates efforts to ensure general employee satisfaction.
- Monitors the quality of work performed and intervenes, when appropriate, to correct or enhance services.
- Makes timely decisions considering the impact on patient care, financial resources, employee relations, public image, and departmental concerns.
- Ensures appropriate and timely verbal and written communication to Administration, departmental staff, and peers to facilitate flow and decision-making.
- Supports the organization in all communications with patients, physicians, visitors, peers, and others.

Qualifications
Current valid NC Paramedic Certification; National Paramedic Registry Certification preferred. Four-year degree preferred or equivalent experience. Current certification in ACLS, BLS, and PALS (instructor preferred).
Current valid NC drivers license with a good driving history.
Minimum of five (5) years full-time experience in a paramedic position, or an EMS leadership capacity, or a combination of leadership experience and education required.
Must have leadership and project development skills as well as knowledge of healthcare trends/issues.
Must be able to manage in a sound fiscal manner. Must be able to comprehend complex detailed information.
Able to serve as a positive role model, be flexible/open to change, function effectively under pressure, must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Must have political skills to deal with external contacts.
Must maintain clinical and professional competency levels appropriate to the services provided and to the needs of different age groups served.
