Overview

Armor Health is seeking an experienced Employee Relations professional who thrives in a fast-paced, highly autonomous environment. This is not an entry-level employee relations role. The successful candidate will independently manage complex workplace investigations, coach operational leaders through difficult employee situations, facilitate new employee orientation, and serve as a trusted HR advisor to correctional healthcare leaders across multiple states.

In addition to serving as the organization's employee relations expert, this role will lead HR training initiatives for operational leaders, helping build leadership capability, reduce organizational risk, and promote consistent people management practices across all facilities.

The ideal candidate is a confident investigator, skilled facilitator, and trusted business partner who exercises sound judgment, communicates effectively with leaders at all levels, and is comfortable working independently with minimal day-to-day supervision.

Responsibilities

Employee Relations & Workplace Investigations

* Independently manage employee relations matters from intake through resolution with minimal supervision.
* Lead complex investigations involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, misconduct, workplace conflict, policy violations, performance concerns, ethics complaints, and other sensitive employment matters.
* Conduct witness interviews, evaluate credibility, gather and analyze evidence, prepare investigation summaries, and develop well-supported recommendations.
* Coach leaders through employee relations issues, performance management, corrective action, documentation, and difficult workplace conversations.
* Recommend appropriate disciplinary action, up to and including termination, while ensuring fairness, consistency, and legal compliance.
* Identify trends in employee relations activity and recommend proactive solutions that improve engagement and reduce organizational risk.
* Conduct exit interviews and analyze feedback to identify organizational trends and opportunities for improvement.

Leadership Development & HR Training

* Lead the development, coordination, and delivery of HR training for operational leaders across the organization.
* Serve as the primary owner of HR leadership education by identifying training needs and ensuring leaders receive practical guidance on employee relations, performance management, documentation, workplace investigations, leave administration, corrective action, and employment law.
* Facilitate engaging virtual and in-person HR training sessions for Health Services Administrators, Directors of Nursing, Regional Vice Presidents, and other operational leaders.
* Develop and maintain standardized HR training materials, leader toolkits, job aids, and reference resources.
* Partner with HR leadership to improve manager effectiveness, increase consistency in HR practices, and strengthen leadership capability across all sites.
* Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend continuous improvements.

Leadership Partnership

* Serve as the primary HR advisor for assigned correctional healthcare facilities.
* Build trusted relationships with operational leaders by providing practical, timely, and business-focused HR guidance.
* Partner closely with Talent Acquisition, Employee Experience, Payroll, HRIS, and other HR functions to ensure a seamless employee experience.
* Support organizational initiatives, leadership transitions, and change management efforts.

New Employee Orientation

* Facilitate virtual and onsite New Employee Orientation sessions for newly hired employees.
* Present company policies, benefits, expectations, and HR practices in an engaging and professional manner.
* Travel to new and existing sites to support onboarding initiatives, investigations, leadership coaching, and employee relations needs.

HR Operations

* Process Employee Action Forms (EAFs) accurately and timely for hires, transfers, promotions, disciplinary actions, compensation changes, and separations.
* Ensure personnel records and employment documentation are complete, accurate, and compliant with company standards.
* Support internal audits and HR compliance initiatives.
* Assist with special projects and organizational initiatives as assigned.

Compliance & Risk Management

* Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including ADA, FMLA, FLSA, EEO, and other applicable regulations.
* Recognize potential legal risk and partner with HR leadership on appropriate resolution strategies.
* Maintain current knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
* Promote consistent application of company policies across all locations.

Working Conditions

* Remote position with approximately **5-10% travel**, including occasional short-notice travel to support workplace investigations, leadership coaching, new employee orientation, and operational needs.
* Occasional evening or after-hours availability may be required to support a 24/7 healthcare environment.

Physical Requirements

* Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
* Ability to travel by automobile and commercial airline as needed.
* Ability to conduct onsite investigations, training sessions, and meetings at correctional healthcare facilities.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience

* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Minimum of **five (5) years of progressive Human Resources experience**, including **at least three (3) years independently managing complex employee relations matters and workplace investigations.**
* Demonstrated experience conducting workplace investigations from intake through findings and recommendations.
* Experience coaching managers through performance management, corrective action, conflict resolution, and termination decisions.
* Experience supporting multi-site, healthcare, correctional healthcare, manufacturing, logistics, distribution, or other 24/7 operational environments.
* Experience facilitating training, presenting to groups, or leading manager education sessions.
* Ability to travel as business needs require, including occasional short-notice travel.

Preferred Qualifications

* PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification.
* Experience supporting geographically dispersed workforces.
* Experience developing manager training programs.
* Experience working in correctional healthcare or other highly regulated industries.
