The Environmental, Health & Safety Manager is responsible for reducing liabilities associated with safety, health, environmental laws and regulations. The Environmental, Health & Safety Manager provides direction and technical support to terminal management teams by assisting them with the implementation and execution of their safety and loss control responsibilities.
Environmental, Health & Safety Manager
- Coaches field employees in all aspects related to safety and loss prevention
- Directs EHS programs, ensuring compliance with EPA and OSHA regulations
- Reviews all safety and environmental policies
- Inspects and reviews operations, ensures compliance with state and federal regulations
- Analyzes accident statistics, establishes precautions and changes needed for terminal safety
- Communicates safety policy and procedure changes, conducts safety orientations as needed
- Performs periodic audits of facility environmental and safety compliance
- Leads training; ergonomics, emergency response, lockout/tag out, hazard communications, etc.
- Investigates all safety related incidents and reports
- Completes necessary reports for insurance carriers, Corporate Safety and Risk Management
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements- Bachelors Degree in Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety or other applicable disciplines, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5 years experience in Health and Safety or Environmental fields
- Proficient in Outlook and MS Office suite of products
- Experience leading training efforts, ability to develop training materials
- Strong project management skills, ability to multi-task
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Easily accessible and available for questions and problem resolutions
- Excellent communication skills are mandatory
- Strong team player with the ability to interact with all levels within the organization
