Employee Development Specialist Manager

The Boeing Company's Production Systems Training (PST) team is currently seeking an Employee Development Specialist Manager to join our team in Florissant, Missouri on 2nd shift. This individual will act as the onsite Manager for the St. Louis Apprenticeship at St. Louis Community College.

The selected candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations for Production Systems Training Apprenticeship for Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), Manufacturing and Quality Learning Solutions. Additional management responsibilities include guidance to other BDS Apprenticeship sites.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team responsible for the development and delivery of Learning Solutions for the fabrication, assembly and delivery of aircraft/aerospace products
  • Deliver certification and technical training to Boeing employees in the Apprenticeship Program
  • Manage employees performing activities to research, design, develop, implement/deliver and maintain processes, tools and training to facilitate employee development
  • Develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures and set operational goals
  • Acquire resources for projects and processes, provide technical management of suppliers and lead process improvements
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Manage, develop and motivate employees
  • Work with STL Community Colleges on Apprenticeship programs, per contractual agreements
  • Provide leadership on the St. Louis Technical Training Quality Management System (QMS) and AS9100 site certification
  • Partner with Human Resources, University Relations and Global Staffing to develop a robust pipeline of talent for the manufacturing areas
  • Position will require 20% or less travel throughout the year


This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at St Louis Community College.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership"
  • 10+ years of experience in an aerospace, fabrication, or manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years of experience delivering on the job training, classroom delivery or cross training
  • Willing to travel domestically as needed


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 5+ years of experience leading teams in a formal and/or informal role
  • 1+ year experience in BDS Apprenticeship
  • Experience performing in a technical training role
  • Experience in space/military aerospace fabrication, manufacturing, flight line or flight test operations
  • Experience conducting internal audits


This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
