Description
The PositionThe EB Account Executive has primary responsibility for its assigned accounts and works closely with the Account Manager and Producer to meet daily client service needs. This position performs financial analysis, renewal/rate negotiations, account management, and builds strong relationships in an effort to obtain client satisfaction and retention and to support the Company's and Employee Benefit Division's business goals and strategies.
Requirements
The Job- Develops strong relationships with clients and carriers to assist clients in settling objectives and identifying areas of concern.
- Remains current on industry trends, new products, and carrier developments to appropriately advise clients.
- Answers client questions, identifies objectives, assesses and researches suitable solutions, and arbitrates with carrier on behalf of client.
- Solidifies "Valued Partner" relationships with clients building upon client confidence to ensure awareness of political relationship issues that arise related to LP, carriers, or other internal client issues such as pending mergers, turnover in contacts, financial issues, and plan dissatisfaction.
- Prepares marketing specifications illustrating client objectives, background on the current plan, areas of concern and all related exhibits.
- Maintains awareness of carrier competitiveness, market focus, underwriting cycles, network or service issues, and various types of funding alternatives.
- Coaches and mentors team's Account Managers and other less experienced members of the Benefits Department Team to ensure efficient and accurate servicing of client.
- Guides team in identifying internal resources available to expedite client servicing.
- Takes initiative and ownership with assigned projects; follows through on all aspects of assignment; initiates reminders for information needed to complete tasks.
- Prepares benefit and financial exhibits for presentations and conducts carrier/client enrollment meetings.
- Reviews all client contracts for accuracy.
- Remains current through seminars and periodicals of industry, client, legislative and regulatory requirements that pertain to employee benefits.
- Seeks out new business opportunities through adding new lines of coverage and/or limits to existing clients, cross selling to other divisions, and seeking referrals and cultivating relationships.
Qualifications Needed- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, agency management/company software; spreadsheets, and databases
- Minimum of five (5) years of related broker, benefits consulting, and /or carrier experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Active Life and Health Agents/Broker License required.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- College degree is preferred.
- Knowledge of health insurance and products is critical.
- Knowledge in HIPAA rules and regulations and the ACA.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Skilled in producing strong written and verbal communication
