Full Job Description
We are looking for OvernightEmergency Veterinarians currently
  • New doctors, or "new to ER" veterinarians, can earn $150,000+ with an excellent ER mentorship program to get you started
  • More experienced veterinarians can earn $250,000+ total compensation with a variety of schedule options available


VCA Metzger Animal Hospital embraces innovations and we utilize an extensive array of cutting-edge diagnostic, therapeutic, and monitoring equipment. These include a complete laboratory supervised by clinical pathologist Holly Brown DVM, PhD, DACP (Clinical Pathology), advanced imaging (digital x-ray, CT, fluoroscopy, color flow Doppler GE Logic ultrasound), canine rehabilitation center (underwater treadmill, rehab certified staff) and complete ER instrumentation (ventilators, 2 Oxygen cages, laparoscopy, endoscopy, Covidien Force Triad). We also have an approved residency program that offers a pathway to ABVP (American Board of Veterinary Practitioners) board certification.

State College, Pennsylvania is in beautiful central PA (halfway between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia) and home of Penn State University (PSU). We have a beautiful downtown area with shopping, dining, nightlife, arts, music, etc. There is easy access to outdoor activities with hiking trails, parks, skiing, festivals, lakes, etc. We also have lots of sporting events, concerts and performing arts. Fall weekends are full of energy and excitement with PSU football. We are a huge football town!
