Emergency Services Clinical Manager

Seacoast Mental Health Center

The Emergency Services Clinical Manager provides administrative, clinical, and operational leadership to Emergency Services clinicians and other assigned staff. Responsible for supervision, performance management, professional development, and workforce engagement.

A. High-quality crisis assessment, intervention, stabilization, and referral services for patients and families within Exeter Hospital (Beth Israel Lahey Health), agency locations and any other affiliated organizations.

B. Compliance with federal, state, payer, hospital and agency standards, with particular attention to patient safety, documentation quality, and clinical risk management

C. Operational excellence through effective staffing, employee engagement, workforce development, performance management, service utilization monitoring, quality improvement initiatives, and data driven decision making.
• Ensuring staff competency in evidenced-based crisis care, including suicide assessment, violence risk assessment, trauma-informed care, Motivational Interviewing, ASAM Criteria, safety planning, and brief intervention strategies.
• Reviewing complex, high-risk, and sentinel event cases.
• Monitoring clinical documentation quality and regulatory compliance.
• Supporting staff recruitment, onboarding, retention, and professional development.
• Utilizing performance metrics and operational data to improve efficiency, patient outcomes, and service quality.
• Maintaining a direct service role to support staffing needs and remain connected to frontline operations.
• Maintain collaborative relationships with hospital leadership, community agencies, referral sources, and collateral providers.

Educational/Experience Required

Minimum of a master's degree in social work, Counseling, Psychology, or related behavioral health field.

Independent clinical licensure in New Hampshire (LICSW, LCMHC, LMFT, or equivalent required).

Minimum of three to five years of progressive behavioral health experience, with preference given to candidates with leadership, supervisory, crisis services, community mental health, or hospital-based behavioral health experience.

Training and experience in crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, Motivational Interviewing, Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale and ASAM Criteria.
