Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Emergency Services Charge Nurse at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, you will serve as a vital clinical leader within our Emergency Services department. You will be responsible for overseeing nursing unit activities, directing patient flow, and ensuring the highest standards of quality care are consistently met. This role is perfect for a dedicated professional looking to leverage their clinical expertise to mentor staff, manage critical situations, and optimize unit resources to provide life-saving emergency medical care.
Every day you will coordinate unit operations to facilitate timely, effective patient outcomes while providing direct clinical support to our patients. You will act as a primary resource for your team, mentoring staff on documentation, equipment usage, and the nursing process, while coaching them to refine their clinical skills. Your responsibilities include evaluating patient care, utilizing the Clinical Response Team (CRT) when necessary, and demonstrating exceptional critical thinking during high-pressure, emergent clinical situations.
To be successful in this role, you will possess strong communication skills, an ability to manage complex workloads, and a commitment to upholding the highest ethical and professional standards in a fast-paced emergency nursing environment.
- Mentors others in areas such as competency, documentation, equipment use, plan of care, National Patient Safety Goals (NPSG), and participation in inservice education
- Provides direct patient care as appropriate to meet the needs of the patients and department
- Ensures standard of care is maintained
- Coaches staff to improve care
- Evaluates care given by staff

Required
- ADN, Diploma or foreign equivalent
- Two (2) years RN experience within applicable clinical specialty
- Registered Nurse: AZ
- American Heart Association BLS
- American Heart Association ACLS
- American Heart Association PALS
Preferred
- BSN
