The Emergency Preparedness Data Analytics Coordinator will assume oversight responsibility for both strategic planning and data-driven decision-making in instances of public health disasters and emergency preparedness events. The selected candidate will work closely with Division of Family & Child Health leadership, Bureau leadership and program subject matter experts (SMEs) to support and coordinate emergency preparedness activities to enable more effective and efficient responses, including but not limited to conducting risk assessments to identify hazards and vulnerabilities and developing and refining emergency plans and strategies based on data-driven insights. The Emergency Preparedness Data Analytics Coordinator will strategize and collaborate with senior staff within the Division to facilitate a clear understanding of capabilities to ensure a positive rapport with the Office of Emergency Preparedness and Response. Responsibilities will include: -Analyze and interpret data to understand the scope, impact, and implications of emergencies. -Evaluate the effectiveness of emergency response activities and recommend improvements. -Create and update emergency response plans, procedures, and disaster plans based on risk assessments and regulatory requirements -Develop and/or update plans, protocols, and procedures, as well as emergency preparedness trainings on how you're the Division of FCH will support public health response functions. -Enhance processes and systems to bolster staffing depth and create sustainable staffing models to support response. -Identify and resolve gaps and implement improvements, as identified in evaluation of emergency responses. -Assess impacts on your Division's programs and services when additional functions are taken on during an emergency and/or absorbed after an emergency. -Work with OEPR, Incident Command System (ICS) Coordinators from other emergency response groups, and your Division's Continuity of Operations (COOP) Coordinator to ensure alignment across ICS and COOP functions and activities. -Participate in emergency response group meetings and activities, including planning, training, exercises, and evaluation. -Developing and maintaining Schools & Family emergency response group, including Charter, organizational chart, leadership roster, staffing list, training, etc. -In coordination with ERG leadership, developing plans and processes to support public, nonpublic schools, childcare and early intervention settings and universities, as well as families, children, and pregnant people, by leveraging existing partnerships with community organizations and city agencies -Providing support, guidance and consultation for the Department of Education and other city agencies -Advocating to support families, children, and school staff in public health emergencies by gathering and integrating emergency preparedness data from multiple sources including demographics (age, income, sex, ethnicity, education, language spoken, religion), facility capacities, shelter status, and housing support as needed for optimizing safety. For Assignment Level I (only physical, biological and environmental sciences and public health) A master's degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological or environmental science or in public health. To be appointed to Assignment Level II and above, candidates must have: 1. A doctorate degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental or social science and one year of full-time experience in a responsible supervisory, administrative or research capacity in the appropriate field of specialization; or 2. A master's degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental or social science and three years of responsible full-time research experience in the appropriate field of specialization; or 3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least a master's degree in an appropriate field of specialization and at least two years of experience described in "2" above. Two years as a City Research Scientist Level I can be substituted for the experience required in "1" and "2" above.
