Full Job Description
Job Summary

Delta Hospital is seeking Emergency Medicine Physicians to join our close-knit, collaborative community emergency department. This is a unique opportunity to practice high-autonomy, full-spectrum emergency medicine in an environment that prioritizes procedural ownership, team and community connection, and sustainable clinical pace.

Based in a community hospital setting just outside Vancouver, you will work alongside an experienced and collegial group of physicians delivering essential emergency care to a diverse patient population.

The Role

This opportunity is available on a flexible FTE basis, with preference for physicians able to contribute toward consistent coverage.

  • Full-Spectrum Community Emergency Medicine: Care for a diverse patient population across all ages in a busy ED (~100 patients/day; ~15-20 per physician per shift), with a strong mix of acuity and case variety.
  • High-Autonomy Practice: Practice independently with control over your clinical approach, level of procedural involvement, and patient management within a supportive team environment.
  • Procedural & Acute Care Focus: Maintain core emergency skills including intubation, central lines, chest tubes, and fracture management.
  • Stabilize & Transfer Model: Manage and stabilize critically ill patients, with established transfer pathways for higher-acuity care to regional centres.
  • Supportive, Close-Knit Team: Join a collegial group of physicians who value collaboration, mutual support, and strong working relationships across the ED and hospital.
  • Strong Hospital & Community Support: Work within a well-supported hospital environment with engaged specialists, active quality improvement programs, and a community that strongly values and invests in its hospital.
  • Balanced Community Practice: Experience meaningful continuity with patients and colleagues, and a broad generalist scope in a community setting.

The Community - The Best of Both Worlds

Delta Hospital is a community hospital offering the warmth, safety, and lifestyle of a close-knit community, combined with proximity to major urban centers.

Located just 30 minutes from downtown Vancouver and 15-20 minutes from Richmond and Surrey, Delta offers easy access to YVR International Airport and is only minutes from the Tsawwassen ferry terminal.
