OverviewThis Emergency specialist will be part of our Security and Emergency Management team supporting our long-term clients with managing and administering FEMA Public Assistance and Hazard Mitigation (e.g., HMA, FMA, BRIC) grants, and other grant programs as needed. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and with a growing team to coordinate between various grant stakeholders (e.g., counties, municipalities, non-profits, contractors, regulatory agencies, etc.) while representing our client. This position will also support the emergency planning and management consulting part of the practice as needed. This is a mid-career level position with growth potential.
TRC offices in New England and the Northeast are preferred, but other TRC office locations may be considered. This position will require work from a TRC office and travel to client sites.
Responsibilities• Attend and contribute to meetings with clients, contractors, interdisciplinary consultants, and other project team members as part of a collaborative project team
• Help administer grants including data and finance tracking, documentation review and auditing, schedule and participate in remote and in-person applicant meetings, and provide quality control for project documentation
• Develop plans, policies, and procedures, sometimes in collaboration with other team members and clients to help implement grant programs locally
• Author reports, technical memos, and other deliverables
• Develop presentations and deliver training content and facilitate exercises at client locations
• Interact with a diverse set of clients including government agency personnel, public officials, business, and nonprofit staff
• Occasional travel throughout New England and beyond (Travel estimated at 5 to 10% of the year)
• Identify and interpret applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as industry consensus standards and best practices, regarding emergency response and recovery programs
• Understand and explain FEMA's grant programs to Applicants and others from the Preliminary Damage Assessment through Close-out phases
• Develop and deliver content as a subject matter expert in public forums (live and virtual)
• Practice good time management and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and project documents simultaneously
• Craft, review, and update detailed, complex financial and other budgetary spreadsheets
• Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. An inquisitive tendency, as well as the interest in protecting people and facilities from harm are also important qualities.

Qualifications• Bachelor's degree, preferably in emergency management, engineering, health/safety management, public administration, or similar degree that requires/demonstrates strong writing and analytical expertise
• 2-8 years of related experience in managing/administering FEMA grant programs (Public Assistance, HMA, BRIC, FMA, etc.)
• Working knowledge of FEMA Grants Portal/FEMA GO programs
• Experience with the consulting environment (internal or external)
• Fluent written and verbal English communication skills; excellent technical writing skills
• Highly detail-oriented, especially with large data sets and spreadsheets
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a larger team to support business objectives
• Ability to work closely with government emergency management, law enforcement and/or security agencies and maintain confidentiality with data shared and provided
• Ability to travel periodically to meet client and project needs
• Ability to pass multiple detailed background checks (including criminal history) and drug screening
• U.S. Citizen, with current driver's license and ability to travel by air, bus, train, etc.
• Proficiency with standard MS Office tools, laptop computers, remote meeting software, and/or related tools
• Ability to occasionally walk and/or stand for extended periods of time, often in outdoor environments
Desired Additional Skills:
• Bi-or multi-lingual skills are a plus
• Certifications such as PE, CPA, or FEMA/DHS-related areas of specialty (ICS 100, 200 etc.) or in other related areas are a plus

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
Salary RangeUSD $85,000.00 - USD $116,625.60 /Yr.
