Full Job Description

Amentum is seeking an Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer to perform Test, Evaluation, Integration, and configuration of U. S. Navy Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) systems.

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Developing detailed Electromagnetic Interference (EMI)/EMC test plans
  • Participating in EMI/EMC test planning meetings and test readiness reviews
  • Perform EMI/EMC testing gather, reduce, and analyze resulting data
  • Prepare and publish detailed EMI/EMC test reports
  • Review technical documentation and technical meeting support.

Minimum Requirements: 

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in electrical engineering with an RF focus or Physics with an emphasis in electromagnetic interference (EMI), electric field propagation, and/or electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
  • Demonstrated experience in theoretical and practical aspects of research, development, test, engineering, or integration of Navy RF sensors and systems and with one or more of the following topside areas: E3; EMI/EMC testing; EMI problem investigation; Spectrum; EMI/EMC analysis and assessment; EMI Control and Mitigation; MATLAB programing; proficiency in use of RF equipment (spectrum analyzer, real-time spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, network analyzer, etc.).
  • Must have a SECRET security clearance; however, an interim clearance is acceptable to start. Note: U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • U.S. Navy Surface Ship Combat/Weapons System experience, operations, and understanding
  • MIL-STD-461 (Requirements for the Control of Electromagnetic Interference Characteristics of Subsystems and Equipment) practice and understanding
  • MIL-STD-464 (Electromagnetic Environmental Effects Requirements for Systems) practice and understanding.

Compensation Details:

$80,000-$120,000
