The Global Engineering & Technology Center in Puerto Rico is looking to hire an
Embedded Software Engineer II to join our
Flight Management & Controls team, under the Military Avionics organization. We are in search of a strong, passionate and action-oriented candidate with a collaborative mindset who strives to exceed expectations.
In this role you will be responsible for the design, development, integration and verification activities in a hands-on work environment to address and implement Military Avionics solutions.
This position will sit at our
Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.
This role is categorized as
hybrid, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.
What YOU will do:- Support programs on Software Development Lifecycle activities (Requirements, Design, Code, Testing, etc.).
- Perform in a cross-functional agile team to deliver Program milestones.
- Work in close coordination with other system/software engineers within the domain to support the development of Flight Management Systems using Collins Aerospace engineering tools/processes.
- Design and development of Flight Management Systems will involve:
- Incorporation of new technology and capabilities.
- Integrating of Navigation standards, Trajectory Management and Real-Time Data.
- Implementation of analytics for maintenance and performance monitoring. Increasing situational awareness through intuitive graphical display development.
- Improving efficiency, safety and adaptability in modern aircraft.

Qualifications you must have:- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 2 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
- Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer:- Airborne Software development/testing experience
- RTCA/DO-178 (or similar) certification-based experience
- Knowledge in AGILE/Waterfall methods
- Communication Protocols experience: ARINC 429, MIL-STD 1553, etc.
- Programming Language experience: C/C++, Python, Ada 95 etc.
- Knowledge of Operating Systems: Windows, Linux, LynxOS, etc.
- Experience with Tools/Processes: GitLab, SVN, Jira, JAMA, Confluence, DOORS, etc.
