ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PRINCIPAL
Cross Trainers Academy is seeking a Christ-centered Elementary School Principal who is interested in serving and leading the elementary school as a part of an established administrative team. The Elementary School Principal is specifically responsible for the faculty, staff, and students in their assigned grade levels and for providing strong spiritual leadership for the entire school community.

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 7:00am start time daily; end time pending daily responsibilities (between 3:30pm-5:30pm)

LOCATION: North Campus, 1530 W Center Street, Milwaukee, WI. 53206

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide overall leadership:
    • Provide daily positive encouragement to school community
    • Be a daily presence throughout the school to maintain intimate knowledge of all activities within assigned grade levels
    • Help lead scheduled staff meetings, devotionals, staff professional development, and parent meetings
    • Active involvement with CTA hiring for assigned grade levels, including application review, interviewing, offers, etc.
  • Manage faculty and staff:
    • Provide day-to-day organization, management, and supervision of all elementary faculty, staff and volunteers within assigned grade levels K4--5th grade
    • Coordinate scheduling for staff and students
    • Ensure that the elementary staff is properly resourced to effectively educate students
    • Oversee teacher instructional practices and provide regular assessment of faculty to create a culture of excellence
    • Mentor teachers and serve as an instructional coach
    • Assist and supervise additional roles within the school, such as lunch, recess, arrival and dismissal.
    • Assist the School Administrator in leading efforts with, and providing direction to, Parent and Family Engagement (PaFE), including sharing in PaFE personnel supervision duties
  • Maintain academic excellence:
    • Work with the administrative team on setting and monitoring school performance goals, building school culture with staff and students, and increasing parent engagement
    • Continually work to supplement and improve school resources, curricula, methods, etc. in an effort to continually improve outcomes
    • Assist in annual state standardized testing and internal math/reading progress assessments
    • Closely monitor tests and all other measure to ensure desired outcomes are achieved
    • Regularly assess, improve, and add measurement tools to aid in monitoring outcomes
    • Demand excellence from all faculty and staff, model this in practice daily
  • Ensure student progress and success:
    • Regularly assess individual students to ensure that students will achieve desired goals
    • Identify and acquire varied capabilities to serve all students regardless of their inherent academic giftedness
    • Communicate and collaborate daily with staff members and parents to ensure each scholar is making academic and social progress
    • Promote and staff student extra-curricular opportunities (academic and athletic)
    • Provide oversight to the 4-year-old kindergarten team in fulfilling and documenting DPI-required K4 parent engagement hours
  • Maintain discipline:
    • Work in concert with the Dean team to develop, strengthen, and sustain a school culture around established behavioral expectations
    • Demand discipline throughout the assigned grade levels
    • Clearly and regularly communicate behavior expectations for the school community
    • Attend to disciplinary issues with firmness, consistency, and wisdom
    • Lead staff in creating a culture with high standards of conduct through professional development in effective classroom management strategies and practices
  • Promote and protect culture:
    • Consciously and deliberately promote a Christ-centered culture
    • Require staff to maintain fidelity to MRM doctrinal, ethical, and moral standards
    • Ensure that curricula and teaching is consistent with the Gospel of Christ
    • Enthusiastically promote authentic Christian faith and a vibrant Christian walk with staff, students, and families
  • Partner in broader ministry of MRM:
    • Partner with MRM leadership staff in supporting and promoting all MRM programs
    • Be well-informed of MRM programs and seek ways to promote and encourage those programs
    • Manage and facilitate community partnerships and volunteer efforts for the elementary school


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or applicable field required; Master's degree (or in progress) preferred.
  • Current DPI license or willing to pursue administrator license in the future (Principal certification not required initially but should be pursued within 3 years).
  • 7+ years of experience in education with 2 years of experience in school administration preferred
  • Training and experience in instructional coaching
  • Leadership experience in instructional coaching
  • A mature Christian leader with a servant's heart who is able to relate well with others in a diverse population and willing to serve in an urban environment of significant need
  • Strong communication, management, and collaborative skills, including strong ability to work with parents face-to-face in an ethical, compassionate and confident manner.
  • Proven skills in leadership, group facilitation, operations, and data collection and analysis
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal communication and team building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate staff to accomplish stated goals and objectives while developing their individual and group skills
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills with demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proactive, creative, and flexible in determining, evaluating, researching, and resolving issues
  • Ability to maintain a calm demeanor and think fast in the face of a crisis or dispute
  • Competent in the following platforms: Word, Excel, Outlook, Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Power School
  • Have a genuine concern for the salvation and spiritual welfare for all those encountered though the ministry of MRM, seeking to model and share the hope of the gospel within the established responsibilities of this position.
  • A workplace demeanor consistent with a Christian church environment: civil, respectful, polite, and responsive
  • Be in agreement with and subscribe to the Milwaukee Rescue Mission's Statement of Faith and the MRM Statement of Biblical Convictions.
  • Be a committed follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, which is evident in personal testimony and Christian conduct.
