Full Job Description
Electronics Hardware Specialist - Circuit Breaker Electronics
Moon Township, PA (Pittsburgh area) • Hybrid - 3 days on-site, 2 remote • Relocation assistance available
$113,000-$165,000/year, based on experience and qualifications

The role

You'll design the electronics inside our clients circuit breakers, working within the Power Components Division from concept through production launch. That means building analog and digital circuits, driving new products through third-party certification, and staying close to manufacturing so the things you design actually work on the line - not just on paper. As you build track record here, there's room to take ownership of technical workstreams on the Electronic Trip Unit product family and start guiding others.

What you'll do
  • Design and develop analog and digital circuits for circuit breaker electronics, with an eye on performance, quality, and EMI/EMC compliance from day one.
  • Turn customer and market needs into real product specs, working alongside marketing and cross-functional teams.
  • Keep multiple projects moving - coordinating with suppliers, contract manufacturers, and internal teams to hit delivery targets.
  • Get hands-on with production and field issues: root-cause investigation, fixes, and follow-through with manufacturing and quality teams.
  • Push for better tools, methods, and processes across the engineering team, and mentor others as your experience grows.

What you'll bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years developing new products; at least 2 of those architecting or designing embedded electronics.
  • Solid hands-on experience with analog/digital circuit design, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of EMI/EMC design practices.
  • Proficiency in Altium Designer or a comparable schematic capture / PCB layout tool.

Nice to have
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience bringing hardware up from scratch - debug, signal characterization, manufacturing support.
  • Track record resolving hardware or system-level issues in the field.
  • Familiarity with UL, CSA, IEC, or NEMA standards.
  • Background in industrial electronics, protection systems, metering, controls, embedded systems, or power electronics.
