2026 Salary Range: $125,776-$192,331 Yearly (Includes locality pay)

Who May Apply: These positions are open to current DAF employees only.

This is a Critical Engineering Position (CEP).

Serves as a professional electronics engineer and the principal technical expert. The incumbent plans, coordinates, synchronizes and integrates innovative engineering procedures, plans, projects, and technical work methods with existing and emerging concepts within the engineering squadron/branch environment to assist in the improvement of the overall mission effectiveness. Advises and implements integration of concepts designed to enhance the strategic competency of the organizational goals and engineering production performance providing critical technological advancement and application methods and concepts.

Requirements:

1. Must be a U.S. Citizen.

2. Obtain & maintain a Security clearance (if applicable).

3. No PCS expenses will be paid.

4. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty.

5. May be required to work extended or other than normal duty hours.

6. Basic Requirements: A. Degree: Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one

program accredited by ABET

Recruitment Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

1. Mastery knowledge of professional electronics engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment to effectively apply advanced engineering theories, principles, and concepts to project development, execution, and advisory services.

2. Expert knowledge of policies, programs, organizations, functions, resources, and legislation affecting the program(s) and the organizations studied or served, and related customers, functions, resources, and users.

3. Knowledge of FAA, ISO, IEEE, and MIL standards for applicable software area and process improvement methods including CMMI, Lean, and Six Sigma.

4. Knowledge of the principles of planning, program management, and standard acquisition regulations, practices, and procedures.

5. Knowledge of safety, security and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.

6. Skilled at presenting complex information and educating others to support collaboration and teamwork.

7. Ability to apply both academic and learned concepts and methods to solve complex problems as well as conceive new ideas and methodologies for approaching problems to improve project, program and organizational performance.

8. Ability to lead, motivate, educate, cultivate and optimize a technical workforce to achieve maximum results as it applies to real and virtual project teams.
