ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Americas Electronic Equities Trading team and become a key player in the expansion of our institutional equities business. This is a client-facing seat on the electronic equities desk, reporting to the Head of Equities Electronic Coverage, with an opportunity to take significant strides in career growth. The role sits at the intersection of institutional client coverage, execution analytics, advanced trading technology, and market microstructure. Your focus will be to support institutional clients on a day to day basis and help optimize their equities execution through our advanced equities trading suite. You will work with many of the largest asset managers and hedge funds and play a key role in driving growth by developing relationships and expanding client engagement across the platform. You will work closely with our quantitative research, product, and trading technology teams, and act as a client advocate, providing feedback that will directly influence the direction of the product roadmap.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively cover existing clients and provide real-time oversight of client algorithmic order flow across the US equities trading session.
  • Engage with our clients to understand their execution needs and offer tailored solutions from BestEx Research's product suite.
  • Facilitate new client onboarding from testing, strategy configuration, and support through initial go-live.
  • Analyze execution outcomes across strategies, venues, order size, and market conditions to support execution consulting conversations and algorithm customization.
  • Help deliver market structure intelligence to clients on liquidity trends, regulatory change, and the competitive landscape.
  • Lead issue escalation to trading technology and development teams during incidents, manage trading risk, and coordinate clear client communication.
  • Prepare client meeting materials alongside senior coverage, maintain the client record, and own follow-up items to completion.
  • Deliver structured client feedback to product and quantitative research so platform investment aligns with client demand.
  • Participate in beta testing of new algorithmic features and introduce relevant enhancements to clients.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience in electronic trading, execution services, algorithmic sales trading, market structure, or execution consulting. Sell-side electronic desk, buy-side trading desk, exchange, and execution technology backgrounds are all relevant.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Active FINRA registrations: SIE, Series 7, 63, and 57, or the ability to obtain them within an agreed period post hire.
  • Solid understanding of US equity market structure, including exchange and alternative trading system landscape, order types, and the tradeoffs between dark and lit routing.
  • Understanding of execution algorithms, their parameters, and how behavior changes when those parameters change.
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with institutional clients, including handling issues under time pressure.
  • Comfortable with data. Ability to build and interpret an execution analysis independently, including interpreting TCA output without guidance.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • High integrity and accountability, maintaining high standards for our firm and clients.
  • Willing to work in our Stamford, CT based HQ in person daily, with WFH flexibility, and travel to client meetings as needed.

PREFERRED
  • Familiar with FIX connectivity and institutional OMS and EMS platforms.
  • Exposure to TCA methodology.
  • Existing institutional equities client relationships, at any scale.

BENEFITS
  • Direct client ownership and visibility earlier than a comparable seat at a large firm.
  • Close working proximity to industry leaders in electronic trading.
  • Direct influence on the direction of the equities business.
  • A clear path from coverage support to owning an account list and a revenue number.
  • Collaborative, entrepreneurial, and research-driven environment focused on data and execution quality.
