Responsibilities

- Design and executetest planstocharacterizeandimprove system performance
- Developstandardizedtestingprocedures
- Collectlarge datasets and analyze datausing scripting tools
- Simulateelectron opticscolumns andvalidatemodels using experimental data
- Design and runexperiments inultra-high vacuum systemstotestsystem sub-components
- Lead diagnosis and resolution ofcomplexissuesinvolvingelectron optics, imagingsystems, vacuumsystems, andelectronics
- Collaborate withsoftware, systems,electrical,mechanical and manufacturing teams
- Prepare comprehensive technical reportsandsharefindingswithinternal collaborators
- Drive engineering and process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- PhD inPhysics,ElectricalEngineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
- Solid fundamentals in electron optics
- Hands-on experience operating and calibrating electron microscopy systems
- Proficiency with electron optics simulation software (eg. MEBS, SIMION)
- Experiencerunningfinite element software packages (e.g. COMSOL, OPERA)
- Proficiency with a scripting language (e.g. Python, Matlab)
- Experience with CAD software (e.g. SOLIDWORKS)
- Strong analyticaland data analysisskills and a systematic approach to problem solving
Nice to Have Skills and Experience
- Experiencerunning experiments inultra-highvacuum systems
- Experience with high voltageequipmentand electron beam electronics
- Background insurface scienceandelectron-material interactions
- Knowledge and experience working withsemiconductorcapital equipment tools such aselectron beam inspection or electron beam lithography tools
