Full Job Description
Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is currently recruiting for a Full-time ECT Nurse Supervisor, Monday - Friday, 7a-3p. ECT RN Supervisor will report to CNO or ACNO. The Registered Nurse supervisor who specializes in Electro Convulsive Therapy will maintain a high standard of nursing care and contributes to the provision of high quality ECT services. Offering both pre- and post-operative care for individuals receiving ECT treatments. They work closely with psychiatrists and anesthesiologists to guarantee patient safety and comfort throughout the procedure. Responsibilities: Patient & Family Education: Explaining the procedure and addressing concerns. Pre-procedure: Assessing the patient's, starting IVs, and reviewing consent and medical history. Treatment days are Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Post-procedure: Managing the patient's recovery from anesthesia, monitoring for side effects, and preparing them for discharge back to their inpatient unit or home Supervisor Duties: Supervises License Vocation Nurse (LVN) and Mental Health Technician. Coordinates process with phlebotomist, medical staff and psychiatrist. Obtains pre-authorizations for ECT procedure through insurance. Provides quarterly reports and ensures supplies is ordered for the ECT department. Facilitating the delivery of care for patients receiving inpatient and outpatient ECT, as well as by collaborating on ECT processes with the Medical and Nursing Leaderships. Must demonstrates self-control in potentially volatile, hostile, or combative situations; ability to meet deadlines; ability to work independently. To facilitate delivery of high-quality, safe and effective nursing care; to assist in the operation of the ECT department according to the legal guidelines of mental health care in the State of Texas. Facilitates communication and collaboration between staff and other departments or units regarding patient care issues. The ECT Nurse Supervisor maintains a high standard of nursing care and contributes to the provision of high quality ECT services by organizing, coordinating. Requirements Required Qualifications: - Current RN license to practice nursing in the State of Texas.
