Electrician | Now Hiring | Turlock, CA

Compensation Includes:

  • Starting range of $39.54/Hr - paid Bi-weekly


Available Shift:
  • 7AM -3PM Monday - Friday

Position Overview:

The Maintenance Electrician position will provide electrical / mechanical maintenance work to the facility and industrial machinery. Individuals will have a strong understanding of electrical code, schematics, industrial specifications, and use of common electrician tools. The facility operates 24 hours per day 5-6 days per week.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Work with assigned production and maintenance employees to complete troubleshooting or repairs based on maintenance work orders and inventory.
  • May work with materials and production to complete assigned projects and improvements.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, computer, mechanical, and pneumatic equipment/systems commonly used in industrial manufacturing applications.
  • Understand and follow electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications using hand tools, power tools, and electrical test equipment.
  • Disassembles, repairs/replaces parts and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment, such as motors, pumps, conveyors, belts, fans, etc.
  • Cleans, lubricates & adjusts functional parts of mechanical devices as necessary.
  • Major electrical repairs including 24VDC, and 120VAC Control Systems, 3-phase systems up to 480V, PLC's, VFD's.
  • AC and DC drives, instrumentation, and hydraulic/pneumatic controls.
  • Industrial temperature control systems, including thermocouples, temperature controllers, solid state relays, and heating elements.
  • New installations of equipment, replace and test electrical circuits.
  • Isolates defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment using test instruments such as ammeter, ohmmeter, voltmeter, testing lamp, or megger.
  • Replaces faulty switches, sockets, and other elements of electrical systems.
  • Removes and replaces electrical transformers & lighting fixtures as needed.
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures, including lock-out/tag-out.
  • Communicates problems encountered throughout the shift to the Production Supervisor, Maintenance Lead or Maintenance Manager.
  • Operates any equipment needed to perform job
  • Must be capable of covering both mechanical and electrical equipment without support on off shifts.
  • Has operating knowledge of all production & service equipment.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years electrical maintenance experience with strong electrical/mechanical knowledge of industrial systems and automated technologies.
  • 2 year electrical degree or similar education preferred but not required.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Trained in lock out/tag out procedures.

Education, Skills, and/or Experience Required:
  • Must pass an electrical aptitude test.
  • Must be Arc Flash certified or have the ability to become Arc Flash certified.
  • Must possess excellent troubleshooting skills
  • PLC troubleshooting experience and work with tension controllers are a plus.
  • VFD troubleshooting and replacement.
  • Computer usage and typing skills are essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Communicates effectively: conveys facts and information clearly both verbally and orally.
  • Collaborates well with others: proactively contributes to group objectives; volunteers to help others.

Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to accurately observe correct paths of travel and areas for product placement.
  • Must be able to communicate and exchange information with teammates.
  • Maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Position is regularly scheduled for an 8-hour day shift. Work hours may vary based on operational and business needs. Position includes on-call responsibilities as needed.
  • Adhere to wear PPE in all areas of the manufacturing facility
  • Check work areas for safety hazards and take corrective action as necessary.
