Full Job Description
About the Role

As an Electrical Test Engineer on the Core Platform team in Boston, you will support the development and validation of Humanoid's advanced robotic platforms through hands-on electrical testing, debugging, and integration work. This role is focused on PCBA validation, board bring-up, subsystem testing, and supporting prototype and early production hardware.

This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys working directly with hardware in the lab, diagnosing electrical issues, building test setups, and collaborating closely with cross-functional engineering teams.

What You'll Do
  • Perform PCBA Bring-Up & Validation: Support board-level bring-up, electrical validation, and functional testing of PCBAs and electrical subsystems. Execute test procedures and assist in identifying hardware issues during development and integration.
  • Execute Electrical Debug & Failure Analysis: Debug electrical failures using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DMMs, power supplies, and other lab equipment. Assist with root cause analysis and verification of corrective actions across boards and integrated systems.
  • Build & Maintain Test Fixtures: Assemble and maintain test fixtures, harnesses, breakout boards, and lab setups used for engineering validation and production testing.
  • Support System Integration Testing: Work closely with electrical, firmware, and mechanical teams to validate subsystem functionality within robotic platforms. Help troubleshoot issues spanning power systems, communication interfaces, sensors, and embedded hardware.
  • Assist with Manufacturing & Production Test: Support EVT/DVT/PVT builds and early manufacturing activities by executing functional testing, troubleshooting failures, and improving test processes.
  • Document Test Results & Procedures: Maintain clear documentation for test procedures, validation results, debugging findings, and hardware issues to support engineering and manufacturing teams.

What We're Looking For
  • Experience with PCBA bring-up, electrical validation, and hardware debugging
  • Hands-on experience working with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DMMs, power supplies, and related lab equipment
  • Strong understanding of electronics fundamentals, including power systems and communication interfaces
  • Experience troubleshooting embedded hardware and electrical subsystems
  • Ability to read schematics and debug board-level issues
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced hardware development environments
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills with a hands-on mindset
Nice to Have
  • Experience with robotics, electromechanical systems, or embedded platforms
  • Exposure to manufacturing test environments or production support
  • Familiarity with DFT concepts and functional test methodologies
  • Experience supporting EVT/DVT/PVT builds
  • Experience with test fixture design or hardware-in-the-loop systems
  • Familiarity with Linux-based development or integration environments
  • Exposure to Altium or other PCB design tools
What We Offer
  • Comprehensive health coverage for US-based employees, including fully paid medical, dental, and vision insurance, with virtual care and employee assistance resources.
  • Meaningful time off to rest and recharge: 23 days of PTO (accrued), separate sick leave, and paid company holidays.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer match.
  • Equity included-we believe builders should share in what they build.
  • Free daily catered lunch, snacks, and drinks in-office.
  • Collaboration with top-tier engineers, researchers, and product experts in AI and robotics.
  • Freedom to influence the product and own key initiatives.
