Full Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
Applied Intuition is seeking a New Grad Electrical Systems Integration Engineer to work across vehicle electrical architecture and bench validation. You will design automotive-grade wire harnesses and build out the hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) benches and firmware bringup workflows that validate them - working alongside senior engineers, cross-functional teams, and suppliers to take electrical systems from schematic to a running vehicle.

This role is open to candidates who graduated in summer 2026 or will graduate by the end of 2026.

AT APPLIED INTUITION, YOU WILL:
  • Design the routing and retention of harnesses, cables, and connectors to ensure ease of assembly, serviceability, and robust functionality
  • Build, instrument, and maintain hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) test benches used for electrical system integration and validation
  • Perform firmware bringup on new ECUs and vehicle hardware - flashing, debugging boot and communication issues, and validating interfaces (CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet) against spec
  • Develop BOMs, wire, and material specifications
  • Create and manage CAD (3D models, assemblies, 2D drawings) using SolidWorks and Altium for low-voltage, high-voltage, and high-speed vehicle interconnects
  • Write scripts and tooling to automate bench test execution and data capture
  • Interface cross-functionally to drive program delivery
  • Work with OEMs, vendors, and partners (current and potential) to identify the best solutions for Applied Intuition's vehicle platform

WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS:
  • BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or an equivalent program, completed in 2026 (summer or fall/winter graduates welcome)
  • Coursework, internship, research, or project experience in electrical hardware design, embedded systems, or test bench development
  • Hands-on lab skills: comfort with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, bench supplies, soldering, and crimping
  • Familiarity with embedded C/C++ and a scripting language such as Python
  • Exposure to serial and vehicle communication protocols (CAN, LIN, SPI, I2C, UART, or Ethernet)
  • Willingness to work hands-on in a lab and vehicle garage environment

NICE TO HAVE:
  • Experience with wire harness design and automotive standards (IPC/WHMA-A-620, ISO 6722, SAE J1128)
  • Experience with HiL platforms or bench automation frameworks (dSPACE, NI/VeriStand, Vector CANoe, or custom rigs)
  • Firmware bringup experience on a new board or ECU - bootloaders, JTAG/SWD debugging, peripheral configuration
  • Formula SAE, Baja, solar car, robotics, or similar hands-on vehicle team experience
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks, Altium, Capital, or CATIA
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Don't meet every single requirement? If you're excited about this role but your past experience doesn't align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
