Full Job Description
The Opportunity

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role for an experienced electrical supervisor who can oversee electricians and subcontractors in the field while also supporting front-end project planning, estimating, resourcing, constructability review, and execution strategy. The Electrical Supervisor will play a key role in planning and supervising major projects onsite, supporting safe and efficient delivery, and helping Tasu build a stronger electrical division capable of winning and delivering new work.

Work Schedule & Travel

  • Remote, project-based work


  • Rotational schedule as required by project needs


  • Travel required throughout Western Canada for modular and camp facility projects


  • Work may take place in construction site, remote site, and camp environments


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and coordinate electricians, apprentices, and electrical subcontractors, including assigning work, monitoring productivity, coaching team members, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification


  • Provide field leadership on major projects, including remote, modular, camp, and workforce accommodation projects across Western Canada


  • Support front-end planning, estimating, procurement, resourcing, and execution strategy for electrical scopes before mobilization


  • Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, bills of quantities, and subcontractor pricing to support accurate electrical estimates and project budgets


  • Complete and/or review electrical material take-offs, labour forecasts, tools and equipment requirements, and manpower plans


  • Read, interpret, and apply construction drawings, specifications, single-line diagrams, schematics, shop drawings, and technical documents to plan and complete work


  • Coordinate electrical installations, temporary power, permanent power, distribution, lighting, controls, fire alarm, low-voltage systems, commissioning, and utility interface requirements as applicable to project scope


  • Develop and coordinate daily and weekly work plans, schedules, manpower requirements, materials, tools, and equipment in collaboration with the Operations Manager and project team


  • Support job budgeting and cost control by forecasting labour, materials, tools, and equipment needs, tracking actual usage, and communicating budget or productivity concerns early


  • Identify and resolve field issues, trade conflicts, design gaps, deficiencies, and productivity constraints in a timely and practical manner


  • Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, deficiency correction, energization, and turnover activities with inspectors, utilities, consultants, subcontractors, and other trades


  • Maintain complete and accurate project documentation, including daily reports, progress updates, inspection records, deficiency tracking, material records, and handover documentation


  • Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to electricians, apprentices, and junior leaders as the electrical division grows


  • Support business development and pursuit efforts by contributing practical electrical input, constructability advice, execution planning, and lessons learned to help Tasu win new electrical work


  • Follow all safety policies and procedures, ensure compliance with applicable electrical code and occupational health and safety requirements, and contribute to a strong safety culture


  • Maintain Tasu's professional image by demonstrating strong communication, accountability, organization, and by keeping a clean, safe, and orderly job site


Qualifications

  • Red Seal/Journeyperson Electrician certification required


  • Electrical FSR designation, Master Electrician designation, or equivalent supervisory/permit authorization is a strong asset


  • 8+ years of electrical construction experience, including significant field leadership experience


  • 3+ years of electrical supervision, foreperson, or general foreperson experience on commercial, industrial, modular, camp, or remote construction projects


  • Proven ability to supervise electricians and subcontractors, assign work, monitor progress, maintain accountability, and support safe, productive project execution


  • Strong working knowledge of electrical distribution, temporary and permanent power, lighting, controls, fire alarm, low-voltage systems, grounding, testing, commissioning, and code compliance


  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, single-line diagrams, schematics, shop drawings, technical drawings, and construction documents


  • Experience supporting estimating, material take-offs, labour forecasting, work planning, procurement input, and project budgeting


  • Knowledge of applicable Canadian Electrical Code requirements, provincial electrical regulations, occupational health and safety regulations, WorkSafeBC requirements where applicable, and construction safety practices


  • Experience coordinating inspections, utility interfaces, testing, commissioning, deficiency management, energization, and project turnover activities


  • Ability to coordinate effectively with project managers, site supervisors, subcontractors, inspectors, engineers, consultants, clients, utility providers, and other trades


  • Flexible and willing to mobilize to major project sites as required, including rotational, remote, or camp-based assignments


  • Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and digital tools for reporting, documentation, drawings, material take-offs, budgeting support, deficiencies, scheduling, or project coordination


  • Valid driver's licence with a clean driver's abstract


  • Legally eligible to work in Canada


  • Physically capable of performing outdoor construction work in varying weather conditions and able to pass an industry-related physical fitness test


  • Camp, modular, workforce accommodation, industrial, or remote construction experience is an asset
