Employment Type: Full-time, salaried

Compensation: Starting at $135,000 DOE

Location: Traveling (based in Rock Springs, WY)

The Traveling Electrical Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing electrical construction projects from pre-construction through project closeout at job sites throughout the United States. This role ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with company standards, contract requirements, and customer expectations. The Electrical Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, vendors, field personnel, and internal stakeholders while managing projects in multiple locations.

This position requires extensive travel and the ability to work remotely from project sites for extended periods as business needs dictate.

Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple electrical construction projects simultaneously from project award through completion.
  • Travel to project sites as needed to oversee project execution, conduct meetings, and support field operations.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and work plans.
  • Review contracts, drawings, specifications, and project documents to identify scope, risks, and opportunities.
  • Coordinate project turnover with estimating and preconstruction teams.
  • Procure materials, equipment, and subcontractor services while maintaining budget and schedule objectives.
  • Collaborate with field supervisors, foremen, superintendents, and customers to ensure successful project execution.
  • Monitor labor productivity, project costs, and overall profitability.
  • Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, and project documentation.
  • Conduct regular project meetings with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and all applicable electrical codes.
  • Identify project risks and implement corrective actions to minimize impacts.
  • Review project billings, approve invoices, and support monthly financial reporting.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead project closeout activities including punch lists, as-built documentation, warranties, and final turnover.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships while representing the company professionally on job sites.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of electrical construction project management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical construction.
  • Experience managing projects from preconstruction through completion.
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA regulations, and construction safety standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, and schedules.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively, including overnight and extended stays at project locations.


Travel Requirements
  • Extensive travel is required, typically 75-100%, depending on project assignments.
  • Overnight and extended travel may be required for the duration of assigned projects.
  • Flexibility to relocate temporarily to project locations throughout the United States as needed.
  • Company-paid travel expenses, lodging, and per diem are provided in accordance with company policy.


Physical Requirements
  • Ability to visit and navigate active construction sites.
  • Frequent walking, standing, climbing ladders and stairs, and traversing uneven terrain.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work in office environments, field offices, and active industrial or commercial construction sites.


Schedule Requirements
  • Ability to work extended hours, including overtime, weekends, or swing shifts as needed to meet project deadlines
