Full Job Description
Micron Technology is seeking a NY Electrical Operations Engineer to support the design, construction, commissioning, and operational readiness of electrical systems for a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing facility in Clay, New York. This role will provide technical oversight for electrical infrastructure, collaborate with design and construction partners, and ensure systems meet applicable codes, project specifications, safety standards, and operational requirements. Following construction and commissioning, this role will transition into ongoing operational support and sustaining engineering for site electrical systems. What's Encouraged Daily: • Provide technical oversight for electrical system design, including medium- and low-voltage distribution, grounding, surge protection, equipment layout, backup power, VFDs, MCCs, and related infrastructure. • Review and validate design deliverables, single-line diagrams, panel schedules, specifications, load calculations, fault current analysis, arc flash studies, and protective device coordination. • Support construction execution by reviewing RFIs and submittals, participating in field coordination, conducting inspections, and resolving design or constructability issues. • Oversee commissioning, testing, startup, and validation activities using commissioning data, load testing, SCADA, power analyzers, thermal imaging, and other diagnostic tools. • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for electrical faults, power quality issues, equipment failures, and system performance concerns. • Develop and support preventive and predictive maintenance programs using CMMS, condition-based monitoring, ETAP, SKM PowerTools, and field data. • Ensure compliance with applicable safety, electrical, and testing standards, including NEC, OSHA, NFPA 70E, IEEE 1584, IEEE standards, and NETA ATS/MTS. • Collaborate with internal teams, external design firms, contractors, vendors, OEMs, and operations stakeholders to support project delivery, system reliability, and operational readiness. How To Qualify: • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field. • 3-5 years of experience in electrical engineering, including design review, construction support, commissioning, troubleshooting, or operations support. • Experience with power distribution systems, motor control centers, VFDs, backup or emergency power systems, and electrical safety practices. • Familiarity with electrical codes, standards, and analysis tools, including NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, NETA, ETAP, SKM PowerTools, Revit, or Navisworks. • Ability to work 100% on-site at the project location and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction and operations environment. The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is: $89,000.00 - $151,000.00 a year Additional compensation may include benefits, bonuses and equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base pay for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.
