Full Job Description
Role Summary
The Electrical Estimator works within the estimating team to prepare, assemble, and submit tender prices for projects of varying size and scope. This role is responsible for developing accurate estimates, maintaining pricing records, and supporting the management team in acquiring construction projects.

Key Impact / Purpose

  • Prepare accurate electrical estimates and proposals for diverse projects.
  • Support project teams with detailed cost breakdowns and planning information.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform quantity take-offs and enter data into computerized estimating systems.
  • Assemble all elements of an estimate, including labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
  • Prepare, review, and submit bid documents to meet all requirements.
  • Gather labor breakdowns for budgeting and project planning.
  • Attend site visits, pre-bid, and post-bid meetings as required.
  • Participate in turnover meetings with project teams to assist planning and budgeting.
  • Establish strong relationships with suppliers and sub-trades for competitive pricing.
  • Review project schematics and collaborate on bid strategies.


Must-haves:

  • 5 years of electrical estimating experience.
  • 3 years of experience on P3 and Design-Build projects.
  • Post-secondary diploma in electrical or construction technology OR equivalent experience.
  • Working knowledge of Accubid; Livecount and Bluebeam considered assets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management and ability to prioritize workload under pressure.
  • Self-disciplined and motivated with a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Hold or be eligible to obtain Government of Canada security clearance.


Nice-to-haves:

  • Industry certifications such as Certified Quantity Surveyor or Certified Construction Estimator.
  • Experience in electrical contracting trades.
  • Familiarity with advanced estimating software tools.


This is anewposition.Expected annual compensation; $75,000 - $100,000
