Job Description

SAIC is seeking a Electrical Engineer to join in and support our team in Panama City Beach, Florida.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

You will be working in a dynamic environment at our Holley Engineering and Integration Center. You will be supporting multiple Navy projects of various scales and multiple contracts. You will hone your leadership skills and gain engineering experience rapidly.

JOB DUTIES:
  • Use your expertise to provide guidance on a variety of technical projects.
  • Design electrical systems, control systems, equipment and packages.
  • Capture design requirements using MBSE principles.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and testing of new and modified designs.
  • Direct support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, documentation, testing and prototype fabrication.
  • Provide design information to drafting for technical documentation team.
  • Provide direct support to the program manager on technical issues.
  • Prepare variance documentation as required to address technical documentation or manufacturing issues.
  • Maintain dialog with program management and integration team staff to resolve technical issues.
  • Support the generation of reports for engineering studies and investigations relating to identified technical issues impacting the program.
  • Review and approve technical deliverables to the government for accuracy, clarity, and recommended acceptance.
  • Support the review of drawings and specifications in support of procurement actions to ensure vendors are properly qualified, responsive, understand the nuances of the product, and have mitigated project risks.


Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related discipline and 2 years or more of work experience.
  • Knowledge solid modeling and 2D drafting.
  • Writing and interpreting technical reports and requirements and interface documents.
  • Preparing presentation material and presenting to peers, project team members, and managers.
  • Hands on experience with electric motors and VFD's (variable frequency drives).
  • Ability to physically troubleshoot AC and DC power distribution systems.
  • Leading and mentoring team members.
  • Microsoft Office.
  • Altium or other ECAD.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen able to obtain a Secret Clearance. Interim Secret required to start. SAIC will sponsor qualified candidates for a security clearance.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • SolidWorks experience.
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering principles.
  • Experience with Multiphysics simulation (electromagnetic).
  • Familiarity with EMI radiation and susceptibility testing.
  • Experience with marine power systems.
  • History of excellent system troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to work multiple projects concurrently.
