Full Job Description
As an Electrical Engineer II, you'll help develop and validate the electrical systems that bring motion, connectivity, and intelligence to world-class fitness products that our customers love. We're looking for a hands-on electrical engineer with experience in new product development who enjoys working in the lab, solving challenging technical problems, and turning designs into reliable production hardware.
In this role, you'll work closely with senior electrical engineers as well as Mechanical, Firmware, Software, Product, and Manufacturing teams to develop, test, and troubleshoot electrical hardware. You'll also collaborate directly with our global JDM and manufacturing partners during product development and prototype builds. If you enjoy hands-on engineering, learning across a broad range of electrical disciplines, and seeing products progress from prototypes to production, this is an opportunity to grow your technical expertise and take on increasing levels of engineering ownership.
YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON
• Lab Testing & Validation: Conduct hands-on electrical testing and validation using oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and regulatory test equipment to characterize designs, identify issues, and verify product performance.
• Electrical Design: Support the development of electrical systems and components, including schematic capture, component selection, design reviews, and occasional PCB layout or board modifications.
• NPI & Manufacturing: Work with senior engineers, global vendors, JDM partners, and manufacturing teams to support prototype builds, design validation, issue resolution, and the transition of new products into production.
• Sustaining & Root Cause: Investigate electrical and system-level issues on existing products, methodically identify root causes, develop and validate solutions, and clearly document results in professional engineering reports.
• Cross-Functional Development: Collaborate with Mechanical, Firmware, Software, Quality, Compliance, and other engineering disciplines to solve multidisciplinary product-development challenges.
• Technical Growth: Build expertise across a broad range of electronics disciplines while developing the technical judgment and project ownership needed to grow toward either advanced technical expertise or future project leadership.
YOU BRING TO PELOTON
• Education & Experience: BS in Electrical Engineering or related field; MS is a plus. 3+ years of electrical engineering experience in new product development, preferably within the consumer electronics, appliance, fitness, automotive, or similar industries.
• Hands-On Engineering: A strong interest in hands-on engineering and demonstrated experience building, testing, debugging, and modifying electrical hardware in the lab.
• Lab Equipment: Experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and other electrical test equipment. Experience with regulatory or compliance test equipment is a plus.
• Schematic & PCB Design: Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools and the ability to make schematic or board-level design changes. Experience with Altium Designer is a plus.
• Problem Solving: Persistence and curiosity when investigating difficult technical problems, with the ability to use data and structured testing to identify root causes and validate solutions.
• Technical Communication: Ability to clearly document test results, investigations, design decisions, and recommendations in professional engineering reports and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical partners.
• Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with senior engineers, cross-functional teams, suppliers, JDM partners, and manufacturing partners in a collaborative product-development environment.
• Learning & Adaptability: A continuous learner who is comfortable working across different areas of electronics and eager to take on increasing technical responsibility.
• Communication & Travel: Strong written and verbal communication skills and willingness to travel internationally approximately 4-6 times per year, primarily to Taiwan and China, with occasional domestic travel, to support JDM development and formal prototype builds.
