Job Description:
Parsons is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Owner’s Advisor team supporting the Medical Enlisted Training Campus (METC) Recapitalization Program at Joint Base San Antonio–Fort Sam Houston. This mission-critical initiative will deliver five modern dormitory facilities for up to 6,000 joint-service medical students and the associated infrastructure.
Working alongside government leaders, military stakeholders, designers, and contractors, you will help manage risk, protect the government’s interests, and support the successful delivery of a high-profile Progressive Design-Build program. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a landmark campus, advance innovative delivery methods, and help shape the future of large-scale Air Force infrastructure programs.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Provide owner-side electrical engineering support for building distribution, power reliability, campus connections, and modular integration.
- Coordinate electrical and life-safety system interfaces with qualified specialists and the Government.
- Review electrical distribution, lighting, grounding/bonding, backup power, metering, and utility-interface designs.
- Assess load capacity, equipment ratings, coordination studies, maintainability, and approved performance requirements.
- Review factory/site electrical boundaries, connectors, penetrations, energization sequencing, and test responsibilities.
- Evaluate electrical submittals, RFIs, substitutions, technical changes, and nonconformance dispositions.
- Coordinate power, fire alarm, controls, and communications interfaces with responsible designers and FRCS personnel.
- Support electrical testing, energization readiness, integrated commissioning, training, and turnover documentation.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited program and 8+ years of building electrical systems experience.
- Experience reviewing power distribution designs, electrical construction, test records, and relevant technical criteria.
- Ability to interpret one-lines, load calculations, protection studies, grounding details, and equipment documentation.
- Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access to JBSA Fort Sam Houston.
- Ability to communicate effectively, maintain accurate records, collaborate across disciplines, and handle project information in approved systems.
- Ability to maintain a one team mentality amongst all stakeholders.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Active PE; Texas licensure or ability to obtain it if required for assigned professional services.
- Federal facilities, campus power, modular MEP, emergency power, and integrated life-safety testing experience.
