This role supports all phases of product development, including prototyping, testing, validation, manufacturing support, and continuous improvement, while ensuring compliance with engineering standards and Stage-Gate processes. The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, cost-effective HVAC electrical solutions, maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, and drive product quality, performance, and manufacturability.

Essential Functions:
  1. Design and develop electrical systems, controls, wiring harnesses, and electromechanical components from concept through production.
  2. Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and engineering documentation.
  3. Lead or support product development activities including prototyping, testing, validation, and design iteration.
  4. Design and integrate low-voltage (12V/24V) and high-voltage electrical systems and components for HVAC applications.
  5. Support software and controls integration.
  6. Predict and evaluate system performance using sound engineering principles, and plan and support test methods and procedures.
  7. Support manufacturing through Design for Manufacturability (DFM), production support, audits, and troubleshooting.
  8. Investigate and resolve issues related to quality, scrap, warranty, reliability, and product cost.
  9. Generate and maintain engineering documentation including schematics, BOMs, specifications, est reports, and engineering change requests.
  10. Communicate design intent clearly and provide technical guidance to designers and cross-functional teams.
  11. Apply Stage-Gate development processes, engineering tools, and applicable industry standards.

Other Key Responsibilities
  1. Strong electrical design experience with the ability to engineer systems and components with minimal supervision.
  2. High proficiency creating electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and electrical documentation.
  3. Experience designing low-voltage (12V/24V) and high-voltage electrical systems.
  4. Working knowledge of HVAC controls, motors, sensors, controllers, wiring harnesses, and communication protocols.
  5. Familiarity with high-voltage components including electric compressors, DC-DC converters, contractors, and power distribution systems.
  6. Working knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA, DFM, PPAP, and manufacturing processes.
  7. Ability to lead assigned projects, prioritize work, and drive tasks to completion with minimal supervision.
  8. Ability to generate organized engineering documentation and properly maintain project records.
