Responsibilities

  • Receive and implement requirements from systems and flight test engineering teams.
  • Interpret flight test equipment electrical interface documents to determine system interconnection needs.
  • Select appropriate interconnection components such as connectors, wiring, and harness supports.
  • Create detailed wiring diagrams, harness assembly drawings, and bills of materials.
  • Ensure that wiring system installations do not compromise aircraft safety.
  • Coordinate with mechanical engineers during installation of flight test and wiring systems.
  • Provide liaison support to the flight test instrumentation team.

Full Job Description
Electrical engineers at PSG research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy and improve cutting edge products and services. These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. You'll conceptualize and design new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle from analog and digital electronic circuit card assemblies to fully integrated systems.

Physical/Mental/Emotional Requirements: Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps. Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity. Rarely lifting or carrying up to 20 lbs.

Working Conditions: Rarely exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.)Rarely exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials. Rarely exposed to loud noises

Responsibilities

  • Interpret flight test equipment electrical interface control documents to determine system interconnection requirements
  • Select interconnection components (connectors, wire, cable, backshells, splices, harness supports, etc.)
  • Create system wiring diagrams, harness assembly drawings, harness bill of materials
  • Ensure aircraft safety is it not degraded by the implementation and installation of the wiring system
  • Coordinate with mechanical engineers for the installation of flight test and wiring systems
  • Liaison support for the flight test instrumentation team

Must-haves:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices Experience with Computer Aided Engineering toolsProgressive experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • Familiar with use of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools (e.g. 3DExperience, Enovia SmarTeam, Teamcenter)

  • Ability to effectively communicate interconnection systems requirements to other engineering disciplines

  • Knowledge of industry-standard electrical design principles, to include, but not limited to model-based definition, electrical component selection, manufacturing, and production processes
  • Ability to obtain / maintain SECRET clearance

Education: Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or other related discipline and typically 6 or more years of relevant experience
