Job SummaryThe Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, maintaining, and improving electrical systems, equipment, and components to support operational, construction, manufacturing, or facility needs. This role ensures electrical systems are safe, reliable, efficient, and compliant with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements. The Electrical Engineer may support field installations, troubleshooting, inspections, and coordination with contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
Essential Job Functions- Design, develop, and evaluate electrical systems, components, equipment, and layouts.
- Prepare, review, and update electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Perform electrical calculations, load studies, circuit analysis, and system evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Support installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
- Inspect electrical work to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with project specifications.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, vendors, and maintenance personnel.
- Identify electrical system issues and recommend corrective actions or improvements.
- Assist with project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and material selection.
- Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, work instructions, and project documentation.
- Participate in safety meetings, risk assessments, and job hazard analyses.
- Maintain accurate records of engineering activities, inspections, and system changes.
- Travel to job sites as needed to provide engineering support and field evaluations.
- Works closely with the electrical and instrumentation team to maintain ADM standards.
- Work from heights, including ladders, platforms, lifts, rooftops, or elevated structures, as required.
- Work in outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and other environmental conditions, as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field required.
- Previous electrical engineering experience preferred; experience requirements may vary based on role level.
- Knowledge of electrical design principles, power distribution, control systems, and electrical equipment.
- Familiarity with applicable codes and standards, such as NEC, NFPA, IEEE, OSHA, or other relevant regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Proficiency with engineering software, design tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently or as part of a team.
- Must be able to work safely around electrical systems and equipment.
- Must be able to work from heights, including ladders, scaffolding, aerial lifts, rooftops, or elevated platforms.
- Must be able to work in outdoor weather conditions and varying jobsite environments.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment, including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, fall protection, and other PPE as needed.
- Must be able to stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, and access equipment or work areas as required.
- Professional Engineer license or Engineer-in-Training certification preferred, but not required unless specified by the employer.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
