Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is looking for someone to join as a vital member of SEL Property Construction team. We design, build, operate, and maintain 2.7m sq. ft in over 20 countries around the world.  As an Electrical Engineer – Buildings & Construction, you will work shoulder to shoulder with our construction, operations and maintenance teams to develop and maintain electrical systems in buildings that support over 8,000 employee owners achieve our mission of making electric power safer, more reliable and more economical.

A typical day as an Electrical Engineer – Buildings & Construction might include:

  • Develop and maintain technical expertise in the design of buildingelectricalsystems, NFPA, state, and local code compliance

  • Perform various studies such as electricalloads,electrical distribution coordination,energyconservation, and lighting

  • Set direction and provide overall guidance on the execution of projects, including scoping, planning, estimating, and risk management

  • Consult with SEL EH&S teams for electrical safety compliance and procedure

  • Consult with the facilities maintenance teams for trouble shooting facility equipment

This job might be for you if:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering

  • Professional Engineer license (ability to get WA and/or ID license within 6 months)

  • Five years managing building construction or improvement projects or related field

  • Good working knowledge of all codes relating to commercial and industrial buildings

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and scheduling software

  • Excellent technical training skills

It is a plus if you have:

  • Experience working with inspection and permitting authorities

  • Good knowledge of system protection, integration and automation applications

  • Commissioning certification

Pay Range Data - $97,700 - $144,400 annually

We set starting pay based on job-related factors such as your experience, training, knowledge, and skills. We are looking to fill this position at the Electrical Engineer Buildings & Construction level, and we welcome applicants with a range of experience. Depending on your background, we may consider you for a different level, with compensation aligned accordingly.

Electrical Engineer Buildings & Construction: $97,700 - $144,400 annually

Lead Electrical Engineer Buildings & Construction: $115,300 6 $170,400 annually
