Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting an Electrical Engineer 3 #3249 (3894) in Los Alamos, NM.

Summary

Responsible for assigned activities within an electrical engineering discipline in support of facility design, operation, and maintenance. Applies broad and diversified knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices in the preparation of complex engineering analyses. Performs electrical design and analysis, system integration across disciplines, construction and project support, and may lead projects or supervise the work of others. Works independently and as part of a team while utilizing engineering technology and supporting process improvements to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities
  • Perform conventional electrical engineering design, analysis, and calculations.
  • Develop, review, and support engineering design packages.
  • Provide construction, field, and project engineering support.
  • Support facility design, operation, and maintenance activities.
  • Apply engineering technology and tools to deliver high-quality work products.
  • Interface with stakeholders across disciplines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Provide system integration within and across disciplines.
  • May lead projects and supervise the work of others.

Requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Working knowledge of industry, regulatory, and DOE/NNSA codes, standards, and criteria relevant to electrical engineering.
  • Knowledge of DOE and DoD facility standards including NQA-1, IBC, NFPA, and NEC.
  • Experience facilitating and developing engineering design packages.
  • Familiarity with engineering deliverables including construction documents.
  • Experience with computer-aided design/drafting software or markup tools.

Clearance Requirements
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required (with very limited exceptions).
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.

Work Schedule
  • After completion of a training period, employees may work Friday-Monday, 10-hour shifts.
  • The training period will follow a Tuesday-Friday, 10-hour shift schedule.
  • Shift and weekend assignments are determined by management based on operational needs.

Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearances requirements, US citizenship is required.
