ABOUT THE ROLEWe are seeking an
Electrical Designer to join our team supporting the DOE's
Y-12 National Security Complex! This position is full-time and will be based out of Oak Ridge, Tennessee with hybrid flexibility.
Responsibilities- Draft in Bentley MicroStation: One-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, lighting/power plans, installation details, Instrumentation and Controls Diagrams, conduit/cable schedules, fire alarm and communication drawings.
- Experience with low and medium voltage power distribution and industrial control systems.
- Experience with NFPA 70, NFPA 79, and UL508A.
- Prepare data sheets, specifications, and walkdown reports.
- Work with an electrical engineers and other CAD drafters from the same work group.
- Must be able to support construction and operational activities related to design outputs. Field walkdowns will be required sometimes in radiological contaminated areas.
- The ability to obtain a Q-clearance will be required.
Requirements- Education & Years of Experience - Associate's Degree in a technical field and 6+ years of relevant experience or High School Diploma and 13+ years of relevant experience.
- Citizenship - To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.
- Clearance - To be considered, you MUST be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
- Must have experience with low and medium voltage power distribution and industrial control systems.
- Must have experience with NFPA 70, NFPA 79, and UL508A.
- Must have experience drafting in Bentley MicroStation: One-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, lighting/power plans, installation details, Instrumentation and Controls Diagrams, conduit/cable schedules, fire alarm and communication drawings.

Y-12 supports efforts to reduce nuclear proliferation risk and performs work for other government agencies (energy.gov).
