About the RoleHello, ELA Teachers! Ampersand Therapy is hiring a full-time English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher for a school setting in Summerville, SC. In this role, you'll provide engaging ELA instruction, support students in developing strong reading and writing skills, and create a positive and structured classroom environment that promotes academic growth and student success.
What You'll Do- Plan and deliver engaging English Language Arts instruction aligned with South Carolina academic standards
- Teach reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar, and communication skills
- Help students strengthen reading comprehension and analyze literary and informational texts
- Differentiate instruction to support students with varying academic abilities and learning needs
- Develop lesson plans and instructional activities that promote student engagement and achievement
- Assess and monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on student performance
- Maintain a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment
- Provide students with meaningful feedback and additional academic support as needed
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and other school professionals to support student success
- Participate in school meetings, professional development, and other responsibilities that support the school community
What We're Looking For- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid South Carolina teaching certificate with appropriate English/ELA certification
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- School-based teaching experience preferred, not required
