About the Role

The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and to promote a safe and environmentally responsible workplace. This role partners closely with operations, facilities, engineering, and employees to reduce risk, strengthen safety culture, and drive environmental compliance.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.Develops, administers and implements environmental, health, and safety programs in accordance with governmental requirements.

Safety Program Management
  • Support implementation and maintenance of EHS programs and procedures.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Track and trend EHS performance metrics and support reporting requirements.
  • Facilitate employee and contractor safety onboarding and training.
  • Support emergency response planning, drills, and business continuity activities.
  • Manage contractor safety and permit-to-work processes.


Environmental Compliance
  • Support compliance with environmental permits and applicable regulations (air emissions, hazardous waste, stormwater, wastewater, and chemical management).
  • Monitor environmental performance and maintain required records and reports.
  • Conduct environmental inspections and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Assist with environmental permit applicability reviews for process changes and new equipment.
  • Support waste minimization and sustainability initiatives.


Industrial & Operational Safety
  • Support programs including:
    • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
    • Machine guarding
    • Electrical safety
    • Confined space entry
    • Work at height / fall protection
    • Crane and lifting operations
    • Laser safety
    • Radiation safety
    • Hazard communication
    • Ergonomics and industrial hygiene monitoring


Systems & Continuous Improvement
  • Maintain EHS documentation, records, and compliance databases.
  • Support EHS data analysis and KPI reporting.
  • Utilize EHS management systems such as Gensuite, VelocityEHS, and Enablon.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote proactive hazard reporting.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 0 years of relevant experience.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefer 3-5 years of EHS experience in manufacturing, medical device, industrial, or regulated environments.
  • Experience supporting environmental compliance and safety programs.
  • Experience conducting incident investigations and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred
  • Occupational Health and Safety certifications preferred
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable environmental regulations
  • Strong communication and training facilitation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally
  • Root cause analysis and problem-solving capability
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHS software platforms

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$68,000.00 - $116,000.00
For roles located in California, Seattle WA, Washington DC, Boston MA, and New York City, the salary range is $$76,000-$128,000 USD.

Actual compensation may vary based on factors including experience, education, certifications, skills, market conditions, internal equity, and geographic location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Short Term Incentive (STI).
