This is a full-time position. Pay is based on experience, but starts at $83,000 annually. SUMMARY: Assist the Director of Education Centre and other Education Coordinators in the implementation and instruction of EMS programs by Life EMS. Assist with the implementation and maintenance of accreditation for Life EMS in the MFR, EMT, Paramedic and Instructor Coordinator program levels. Implement other training programs and education including but not limited to continuing education and cardiac, pediatric and trauma courses.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Ensure daily customer happiness
- Development and implementation of a variety of EMS Educational courses, providing direct instruction to students
- Development and implementation of EMS course quizzes and exams, maintenance of course grades.
- Assist the Director of Education Centre in achieving department goals and educational quality initiatives
- Reviews data and compiles statistics to spot trends of problem areas that may need to be addressed individually or as a whole with education and training
- Assists with peer review and constructive critiques of students
- Assist in researching questions/concerns from local medical control representatives.
- Follow all policies and procedures of the Education Centre
- Maintain records as directed by policy and the Director of Education Centre or his/her designee
- Attends meetings as requested by and for the Director of Education Centre to represent Life EMS
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS: - Must maintain a MDHHS Paramedic instructor/coordinator certification
- Life EMS Level II Paramedic status preferred
- Must possess or have ability to obtain BLS, PHTLS, ACLS and EPC instructor level certifications
- Evidence of significant prehospital care experience along with outstanding leadership and communications skills that demonstrate an ability to effectively educate individuals ranging from the lay public on through to experienced paramedics and other health care professionals
- Interview and evaluation by Life EMS designee
- Must have outstanding verbal and written skills that demonstrate the ability to train others
- Must pass all Life EMS pre-employment requirements as outlined on the Conditional Offer of Employment
- Must demonstrate positive, respectful behavior in dealing with people at all levels
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a valid driver's license and must have and maintain a good driving record
- Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred, but not required
