LocationThe City and County of Denver utilizes a hybrid model workplace that balances the responsibilities of public service with the benefits of a flexible work environment. What You'll DoDenver Great Kids Head Start (DGKHS) is hiring for an Early Head Start School Readiness Administrator. This Administrator reports to the Head Start Executive Director and is responsible for planning, coordination, consultation, evaluation, support, review, oversight and reporting on school readiness programs and
initiatives of DGKHS to achieve established educational targets as measured by children's performance on Teaching Strategies Gold Child Outcomes assessments, and other indicators. The Early Head Start School Readiness Administrator serves as a technical consultant to the delegate agencies and demonstrates effective leadership, teaming and facilitation skills to engage partners in planning activities that result in goal advancement and increased child outcomes.
Responsibilities- Ensure all children transitioning from Denver Great Kids Head Start have the cognitive, physical, social and emotional skills, knowledge, and physical development to succeed in school and in life
- Develop policies, procedures and practices for Early Head Start that support children, families and pregnant women. Develop and implement culturally responsive programs, initiatives and training sessions that provide opportunities for Head Start parents to more effectively support the school readiness activities of their children. Promote positive relations with community stakeholders by participating on various committees that advocate school readiness initiatives or activities for Head Start families
Data Collection and Analysis:
- Review and analyze delegate agency child outcomes assessment data and provide recommendations to Head Start Executive Director for implementation strategies to improve overall performance
- Complete and submit required reports to Executive Head Start Director, Executive OCA Director, Management Team, Governing Body, Policy Council
Training/Technical Assistance- In partnership with DGKHS team members, parents and other stakeholders, determine overall training needs and provides training, mentoring, and consultation to delegate agency education staff, as needed, using Spanish language skills.
- Under the direction of the Head Start Executive Director, develop city-wide training opportunities that support goals for education programs. Attend trainings and participate in professional development opportunities to keep abreast of best practice strategies and programming for school readiness
Program Monitoring- Perform on-going monitoring of Head Start classrooms to ensure that facilities, materials and supplies promote and support early learning and are safe and meet Head Start program performance standards as well as state and local licensing requirements.
- Perform observations in Head Start classrooms and develop assessment reports on teacher-child interactions
- In conjunction with delegate agency staff, develop improvement plan that promote school readiness activities in accordance with the established school readiness plan
- Provide authoritative guidance and direction to delegate agencies who serve EHS per the Head Start Program Performance Standards
- Provide consultation and programming to delegates Conduct program monitoring on both EHS and HS Provide coaching to delegate agency EHS and other HS staff and monitor coaching logs Conduct classroom Observations of HS and EHS programs Initiate and participate in education staff meetings across all delegate agencies Participate in all DGKHS content area meetings Reviewing all data- comp template Maintain EHS budget and participate in budget meetings Participate in DGKHS education training sessions

Minimum Qualifications- Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in a related field based on a specific position(s).
- Experience Requirement: Three (3) years' experience performing full performance professional level duties within a specialized, functional area. (This does not include clerical experience.)
- Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.
- Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
